Today we remember and honor the sacrifice of Officer Jaime Roman, and the ultimate pain and price that he paid for the People of Philadelphia.    To Officer Roman’s family, we will never leave your side. We will be there for you for whatever you need, as our grateful City mourns your loss.    We ask our Police officers to do a very difficult job every day, to keep our City safe. I make this promise to our Police officers and our first responders: We will work every day to get you the resources you need to ensure that Officer Roman’s sacrifice was not in vain.

@harrisonfinberg @JasonKelce I know, right at the entrance of Chinatown, where predominantly brown people live. Unthinkable in Chestnut Hill, Rittenhouse Square or Olde City.

To be clear, I would absolutely support the Sixers building their own arena in South Philadelphia. The renting thing isn’t fair to them, I just hate the strong arming of the city to force an inevitable move into an area that the local residents, and vast majority of Philadelphians don’t prefer be in center city. Again though, at the end of the day, we will all love it in 5-10 years when we have a beautiful new stadium in the heart of the city. It just pisses me off now, with the way it’s happening, and I’m gonna be pissed for the foreseeable future at how this is being forced currently. The threat of moving the team is bullshit, I hate it. Admittedly I was scarred growing up in Cleveland by Art Modell and the Browns, which the city of Cleveland messed up on, but it doesn’t change that I have a strong disdain for owners making these threats with zero care for what the fans or residents who support the team want.

It always amazes me how these “best decisions for the whole city” never destroy predominantly white neighborhoods, only those where black and brown people live.

I'm not even trying to be shady to ESS or SDP, but I can only imagine this would be simpler and faster if it were all done in house instead of with all these intermediaries.

here I am, a teacher with four valid certifications in Pennsylvania, unable to substitute teach because SDP needs my 06 emergency sub permit, which only requires a bachelor's in any subject.
