The court ordered the husband to pay maintenance: - ₹12,000 to the wife - ₹6,000 to the daughter The wife challenged this order. She said her husband earns ₹79,238 per month and also makes about ₹35,000 from share trading. The wife was ready to return, but the husband made no effort to take her back. The husband said he has loans to repay and a retired father to support. The court said that loans taken to create assets cannot be used to reduce maintenance. He has 4 people to support, so his income should be divided into four parts. The court ordered him to pay ₹19,800 per month to the wife and ₹19,800 per month to the daughter.

@Simon_Ingari I also have bad encounters with this timing, sat in 2-3 interviews(last couple of months) all results in rejection. But in an interview in the second half 3-5pm was positive for me, Got some do with timings 😄

Historically, women were not allowed to earn, inherit, own property, hold jobs, have bank accounts, keep their income, or even step outside without permission. Men created a system where they monopolised earning and then used that monopoly to claim lineage and now pretend it was “merit.” If women had been allowed to work, earn, inherit, and lead for the last 2,000 years, your family name would have come from women, not men. And the “beg for maintenance” comment is ironic, because the only reason alimony exists is because men forced women into economic dependence by banning them from education and employment. You can’t cage someone for centuries, deny them income, and then mock them for not being financially independent. If men hadn’t kept women out of the workforce, education, property rights, and public life, women wouldn’t need maintenance, and the family name would be theirs by default.

Women shouldn’t be expected to give up their surnames after marriage. In fact, it makes far more sense for children to carry their mother’s surname. A father contributes 50% of the genetic material, but 100% of the pregnancy, risk, labour, birth, and early survival of the child comes from the mother’s body. Her health, her blood, her organs, her hormones, her literal life on the line. If anyone’s legacy deserves to be carried forward, it is the person who creates, grows, births, and often raises the child. A husband’s surname isn’t inherently more “family” than a wife’s. It’s just a patriarchal custom that treats men as lineage and women as vessels. We don’t have to keep repeating it.
