@mert People don’t realize how huge taxes are. A company spends €200 000 to employ someone in France -> after social charges, income tax, VAT, fuel & energy taxes… the worker keeps only €55 000 of real purchasing power. That’s ≈75 % gone in taxes.

Hot take: This constant push by investors (retail and institutional alike) for early stage protocols to conduct buybacks is one of the biggest mistakes our industry is making. We need protocols to be prioritizing growth. No startup whether centralized or decentralized can afford to not prioritize growth. It is better to do it with revenues than token inflation.

A buyback is, 99% of the time, an admission by the team that they were the hot thing and now they don’t know how to resist the next hot alternative. Sure, you can spend $ X million to buy back 10% of your token and boost market cap by 10%. Or you could use that money to improve your product, marketing, and revenue, so you’re not replaced by the next shinny alternative.

I agree it's not really a buyback like when a company makes money through token A, sells it to buy their project's token. I prefer our solution where 100% of microtransactions are market purchase of aury. Once we hit even a few dozen k $ of microtransactions it should add constant buy pressure. Sure some og will sell their xk bags the first 2 3 months of token rising, but after that?
