I remember a colleague, no social medias, his portfolio is an offline pdf .
Never been jobless, not because he does great art, he's a teamplayer and a sweet guy.
People want to work with because he makes their job easy, it's an invisible skill that doesn't reflect on art skills.

I've seen veteran artists give up on social media giving tips because young and angry artists in the community simply didn't understand advice that required lived experience, honesty with oneself (+/- therapy), and simply doing the work. People are afraid of failure it's fucked

Microsoft wants everybody to embrace Copilot / AI, or the bubble could burst. Satya Nadella warns AI boom could falter without wider adoption. “For this not to be a bubble by definition, it requires that the benefits of this are much more evenly spread,” said Nadella in a statement to FT. “I’m much more confident that this is a technology that will, in fact, build on the rails of cloud and mobile, diffuse faster, and bend the productivity curve, and bring local surplus and economic growth all around the world,” he added. While all other AI tools are booming, Copilot on the web has just 1% market share, and Microsoft won't tell us how many people use Copilot on Windows 11.

I'm headed to Boston next week and I wasn't sure how to plan my morning. I just asked @GeminiApp app how long it will take me to walk from my hotel to where I need to be on Tuesday. It was able to: - find the email with my hotel details - find the email about where I need to be in the morning - use Maps to calculate how far of a walk AND it reminded me what time I needed to be at the meeting place that day. 🤯 Life logistics just got so much easier!

Xenacanthus is a freshwater proto-shark with interesting traits.
The body shape suggests (to me) that it could be mainly a bottom dweller, maybe even with an electrogenetic organ, to shock and immobilize its prey.

Just sucks as a concept artist to get an AI moodboard before you even started. It puts those useless images in your head and taints the creative process from the beginning. There's so much movies, games, paintings, photos. It just comes across like the leads have no inspiration.

Holy fuck guys we’re not "pushing hard" for or replacing concept artists with AI. We have a team of 72 artists of which 23 are concept artists and we are hiring more. The art they create is original and I’m very proud of what they do. I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world class artists. We use AI tools to explore references, just like we use google and art books. At the very early ideation stages we use it as a rough outline for composition which we replace with original concept art. There is no comparison. I talked about how we use ML here if you would like to know more: gamespot.com/articles/baldu… We've hired creatives for their talent, not for their ability to do what a machine suggests, but they can experiment with these tools to make their lives easier.

Only saying this because the more people say it, the more often, the more it's heard. I do not want AI 'helping' me with tasks. I have no interest in 'content' created by AI. And the costs - environmental, ethical and human employment - makes me hate it all the more.
