Okay... So I wasn't going to say anything about this, but I feel there is good in it somewhere. Yesterday I got told my company is getting rid of 20% of their staff. Being a contractor - puts the biggest target on my back, regardless of performance and stats... I was indeed informed that I am being let go and that I have 2 weeks to find a new job. Those who know me know that I have 2 kids and I am a Dad 1st, so this was a devastating blow to me. I found out just before sitting down to have dinner with my family. Sitting there, tears overwhelmed me, and although I tried to hide it... I couldn't... I ran to the bathroom and just had a moment so that my kids would not see their Dad in this state... I AM SHITTING MYSELF to be honest as I worked for a Canadian company, so the pay was way above what local companies would pay. That being said, I pulled myself together and went live today on #kick ... @kick @KickSupport staff somehow managed to find themselves in my stream and were conversing and engaging with EVERYONE, and what a vibe it was. They then proceeded to bless me with a front-page feature on top of the amazing vibes they brought to the stream. It's crazy that in the midst of the fuckery I am currently going through, a platform that truly puts its creators 1st - found a way to remind me that I am worthy... I do add value. I AM SOMETHING!!! I wasn't going to say shit about this, but there might be someone going through something similar. All I can hold on to is that WE ARE ENOUGH!!! Today was something I so deeply needed, and I cannot thank you enough @kick ... Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart. We will make it through this. You are enough. #LeaveYourMark
