Some people taking this as me saying prediction markets are bad for bettors. Want to be clear that is not my take at all.
I'd actually say they are good for a bunch of reasons:
1. Unlikely to get limited or banned
2. Can find better prices than there are on books
3. All markets are 2-way, yes or no. The 1-way markets on books are often criminal amounts of juice.
4. Can get far more fair "cash outs" as the markets are always open until they settle
I'm sure there are more positives (and negatives) to the PM model. Want to do a show on all this soon, with people far more knowledgeable than me on it.

I love playing peer-to-peer games. In theory, betting sports on prediction markets is peer-to-peer.
In reality, a lot of the people "market making" (aka booking) at scale on prediction markets are among the best and most sophisticated sports bettors. FanDuel, and tons of other books, are battling these market makers for your action.
Hopefully no one actually thinks they're betting against Joe from the deli.

NEW: When you make a parlay bet on a prediction market, FanDuel might be your counterparty. Flutter, the parent-company of FanDuel, announced in its Q1 earnings report today that "in April, we began trialing market-making services on a major, third-party prediction market platform.” FanDuel has its own prediction market platform, FanDuel Predicts, which $FLUT CEO Peter Jackson tells me is mainly for onboarding new bettors in states yet to legalize traditional sports betting. “I want to do both,” Jackson says. “I want to make money through market-making and I want to acquire customers.” The prediction market market-making Flutter is doing is mainly in prediction market parlay or "combo" bets, Jackson says. Prediction markets say they differ from sports betting operators because they aren't the house. But now they may be pitting you against the house of Flutter.

"learn ball" is a euphemism for not knowing what your talking about - not basketball related lol.
kalshi and polymarket did not put up any lines for hours upon hours after DK/FD/CZ etc did for play in and playoffs.
I am also giving out plays so need to grade fairly. I cant assume others have P2s, cant assume people can bet big into draftkings or FD openers, cant assume the liquidity available for a lot of people tailing me is enough on an exchange early in cycle when there is a few hundred bucks to maybe 5k available in total (thats the range 95% of the time i am playing into early sportsbook lines).
On my last stream (monday morning) I said early on in the show I am going to give a kalshi market thats not open at a lot of books and the price where it was on FD/CZ was not that good and worth betting. Then at the end of the stream i said ok lets look at the kalshi market. It was SGA Western Conference Finals MVP. I had got it for 51cents the night before the stream prob 6-8 hours prior and didnt recheck, there was a lot of liquidity at 52-55 cents, I took all at 51c Sunday night (2k to win 3,955k). I pulled up the market and it had moved to 56 cents and with buyers fees would have been worse than the sportsbooks now and said ahhh nvm. was live on the stream. here is my order in the market. trust me i cannot bet even 1k on draftkings openers with how consistently I get CLV. Closer to 200-400 regularly, and takes working with people.

@fallguysbean32 learn ball. unit is a measure of bankroll exposure generally between 1-2%. i bet a lot of openers where you cant get as much down, so compared to my bankroll, it very much is.
