Little known fact, my first radio job at ESPN Radio 1230/1320AM in the Lehigh Valley was doing Pregame/Halftime/Postgame for Lehigh Men’s Basketball on the radio network 20 years ago. I’m sure @fallonlv is pumped to call the action.

@bulldurham60 That’s the closest other one in terms of reaction but you still had guys jumping in each other’s arms. Lehigh’s reaction was still more subdued… but not by much. And I LOVE that UMBC win.

Find me any other time a 15 or 16 seed reacted to the final horn as if THEY were the heavy favorite! No wild celebration. No dog pile at center court. Just high fives and go shake hands… because they expected to win.

@jashercox @LFN Plus a standalone game on TV that can draw over a million viewers in some years! Exposure is fantastic.

For a mid-major, a First Four bid is one of the best-case scenarios for two reasons: No. 1 it’s a winnable game…No. 2 if you win, you just created two rev units for your school and league. I promise the president or AD isn’t complaining.
