@Johnsuarez89 @drdavidajames @theipaper @IsabelHardman As in, let’s encourage people to not use state resources so maybe some sort of incentive ? Not this lot sorry, they like the thought of dragging everyone down in to the shit system and hope that people won’t feel resentful and somehow give more to the state 🤦‍♂️

@drdavidajames @theipaper @IsabelHardman Imagine had the government taken a positive approach and said “how can we make this more accessible to parents” rather than lets tax it so that only the wealthy can enjoy it.

@paullewismoney @NoEducationTax I’ll use my name, Shaun Farmer and I think you’re a bit of a cunt to be honest, probably got a bit of a chip on your shoulder too and detest PS because you or your parents probably couldn’t afford it so in your shallow, weak and envious opinion you lash out at those who done well

@KarlTurnerMP @UKLabour @RachelReevesMP Reeves doesn’t care about a single person other than herself. Vein throbbing in her neck as she shouts about taking money off families & “putting it where it belongs”. You have admitted VAT on school fees is nonsense. Reeves is disrupting the education of children out of spite
The Labour Party@UKLabour

Labour promised to end tax exemptions for private schools. We delivered that promise. Now, we’re moving that money to where it belongs: into state schools up and down the country.

Most any leader of @UKLabour (not interested in factionalism) would want to keep @RachelReevesMP on the field of play. Rachel has a brain the size of several planets and she is human as well. Rachel actually cares. It’s not all about her. It’s about what difference she can make.
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

One Labour MP close to Reeves said: “I am concerned that we may lose everything if a new leader sacrifices the chancellor for promises and new alliances they are currently forging with MPs who fancy the job for themselves. The biggest fear for the bond markets and the unions is Ed Miliband” Story: theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

Wes Streeting has this morning set out his tax plans - specifically bringing capital gains tax into line with income tax He says that the current system is unfair because it penalises work Higher or additional rate taxpayers will pay 24% on gains in the current financial year. Streeting said that the rates should mirror income tax bands - so 40% for higher rate taxpayers and 45% for additional rate taxpayers He says that the approach could raise £12billion a year Streeting said: “A member of my family is a cleaner in Lancashire. She pays a higher tax rate on her salary than her landlord pays for the growing value of the home she lives in. She slogs her guts out, he puts in far less effort, yet the state rewards him more than her. And we wonder why people are angry. “The system is penalising work. It’s not fair and it’s bad for our economy. We need a wealth tax that works. A pound made from simply owning assets should not be taxed less than a pound made from a hard day's work. We can do it in a way that is pro-growth, pro-entrepreneur and pro-work.”

With Reform UK, it's always about 'looking after our own' until it comes to feeding children. Labour is providing over 6,400 children across Kent County Council with free breakfast clubs. Reform UK literally want to take the food from their mouths. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

This is just one of Starmer's vindictive policies... These are not rich families... the rich don't care about VAT. These are normal families that go without to afford private schools fees. And these children have been placed into crisis for a policy that has ACTUALLY COST THE TAXPAYER. Good riddance to him.

What is it that the Conservatives and Reform don’t like about a Labour government standing against unearned wealth? What is it they don't like about raising money for our state schools, our hospitals, our police, and to lift children out of poverty?

When the courts let the Manchester Police get away with punting a suspect's head, other cops learned it's OK. If you can't apprehend an already tasered & downed suspect, your training sucks. There's a reason "soccer kicks" are banned in even the UFC.

@terrychristian Terry, youre attacking builders, plumbers, retail staff!!! Because in today’s society these are some of the people that are using independent schools. You’re out of touch. You’re like Dad, back in the day, watching Top of the Pops with his kids saying “look at the state on that!”

Politics of Envy ? As opposed to the politics of greed and lazy undeserved inherited privilege
Richard Payne@richardpayne94

@terrychristian They are not ‘subsidised’, you moron. This is a new tax, on the parents, not the education. Yup, let’s all aim low………ffs. The politics of envy, grievance and lowest common denominator is exactly why this country is in the 💩.
