Twiga Foods has suspended its Nairobi operations until August as it shifts to a leaner, tech-based model. This comes after challenges with its capital-heavy model, leading to over 300 job cuts and plans to move its hub closer to the city for cost efficiency.

@mohammedhersi Covid taught us to look within. Coast hotels should start attracting the domestic market. Really underrated market. A few coastal hotels still have a habit of treating locals as a sub-standard customer. Make that push. October, saw a local guest refused entry at their own hotel.

Tourists DONT walk to a destination , majority have to fly moreso for long haul destination. Please DONT ask me why we are NOT able to increase our numbers . I keep losing groups from Estonia, Latvia, UK et al all keen to sample Mombasa, Diani, Watamu and by extension Amboseli & Tsavo. I have no idea why anyone in government is NOT able to see the corelation between seats flying into a destination and number of visitors. This did NOT start with KK government, Uhuru regime was NOT any better on matters open skies totally undermining SAATM. International brands will not even bother with Kenya coast when they know there are NO scheduled flights into the destination. The Dongo Kundu bypass is pretty useless and they'll be busy with canters and trucks bringing goods from our neighbours TZ. I am very happy for TZ. 38 weekly Turkish flights against 7 for Nairobi.
