@MONEYFAST1345 @fatho3000 @hostileworm Soy is processed to produce soy oil (mainly consumed by humans) and byproducts like soy meal (mainly consumed by animals). These byproducts are not necessary for making meat. Cows, sheep, etc. ideally graze on land that cannot grow food for humans.

i would never argue with a vegan because they’re making the morally correct decision and i’m not. i don’t have any truly sound way to counter their perspective from a moral standpoint. so i just practice cognitive dissonance and eat my beef and pork and keep my mouth shut.

I think most people hate vegans because they individualize the problem of the meat industry and refuse to actually organize against capitalism to legitimately challenge the systems that make the meat industry so odious

veganism is not inherently a morally superior position. the vegetables and fruits you consume are also harvested via immense cruelty & exploitation, not to even mention indigenous practices or food deserts. if you care about animals, the position to take is anti-capitalism.

@shinylight887 @hostileworm Then thats great for you, but ur an exception. only 1% of meat is not factory farmed, ur part of the 1% buying that meat. And if you agree factory farming is immoral, then the much easier solution for most people is to go vegan. Can't drive 3 hours every time i need meat

@hostileworm It may cost a bit more, but one can buy meat that has been raised without factory farming. That's what I do. There is no reason to feel bad about eating meat. It is what humans are designed for.

If eating meat is inherently wrong our bodies would not need B12 (not found in plants), heme iron, zinc, vitamin 1, or D. Being vegan is fine, but it’s not “inherently correct”
