@MrsMagdaBeard I'm pretty sure that nobody suggested husbands are or should be stomping their feet. People were talking about husbands being in charge and making decisions for the family. They actually have a right to do that.

@shinylight887 You seem to be missing the part where the foot stomping is what makes it sound miserable. My husband is the head of our family too, he just doesnt feel the need to order me around to make a show of how "in charge" he is.

Fr I don't know what you guys are out there doing that your marriages are a constant battle wherein the husband must constantly stamp his foot and declare his way because he is the "head of the house" but I feel bad for you. That sounds really miserable for everyone.
𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 👑@MrsMagdaBeard

@iam_shwa Sure. My husband just doesnt feel the need to order me around like a child to "get his way", because he is an adult and so am i.

@findveritasx Why assume women know nothing about theology? I'm a woman and I have an MDiv.

I think it’s much more unattractive for a woman to incessantly and ceaselessly harp ignorantly about theological matters as if she was the self appointed HOA president of Christianity instead of realizing she knows nothing and being silent and learning.
Lizzie Marbach@LizzieMarbach

I know this is unpopular, but it will always be unattractive for a grown man to play video games. Some women might be understanding or pretend like they don’t care that you spend hours playing, but they do. It is extremely unattractive to women and will never not be. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@ScholasticRose @cinnamonrib343 She is right that a wife does not have to obey a husband telling her to sin, just wrong about it being a sin to attend the NO. She actually would do better to blindly follow her husband in that situation.

If my husband became a modernist and decided to go to the NO I wouldn't follow him as the rite is an inherent danger to the Faith. Obedience isn't blind and obedience to our superiors is for the sake of our salvation; it's not owed if they're leading us into sin.
🇻🇦 Fr Victor Feltes@StuffForSisters

A Catholic family with children has a husband who greatly favors one form of the Mass and a wife who equally favors another. If the husband concludes that consistently attending together the Mass he favors is best for their family, ought his wife obey him?

@TomoLovesNature @RealityBent Gamechangers is not objective science. It is marketing by people who have invested in meat substitutes. Plants contain substances that prevent absorption of nutrients. Like many others, I can't even eat all the plants I would need to receive sufficient protein from them.

Are vegans disproportionately more anti-abortion than non-vegan liberals? Would seem to necessarily be true, but I'd guess they're actually correlated. I'm curious how they reason out of the logical inconsistencies.

@EmmaSzewczak One of my sons became a single dad and those children live with me now (because he works nights). But I didn't do it for my son. My grandchildren need me.

To all the grandparents who refuse to help their kids with childcare (or any aspect of their lives for that matter) I say: a child is for life, not just for the first 18 years of legal guardianship! Parenting is, unfortunately, dealing with the consequences of your own actions.

@cinnamonrib343 Claiming the NO (a received rite of the Church) is "an inherent danger to the faith" comes under anathema from the Council of Trent. It is not a traditional position.

@OnlyFormHolds Sarcasm always makes me think of the Crown of Thorns and calls of "Hail, King of the Jews". I think it morally safer to let my yes mean yes and my no mean no. I still give into the temptation sometimes.

Over this weekend, I was considering using extreme sarcasm from now on to make the case for moderate realism. But two things are stopping me. First people may take it at face value, not noticing the sarcasm. Second, is sarcasm evil? If so, I cannot do evil that good may come.

@theblessedsalt I did my first Thomistic philosophy course at 39, as part of my MDiv. It was an intro to the Summa and I loved it. It was clear and powerful and swept me away with its logic. I did not think it was challenging, just wonderful.

I’ll readily admit I’m not sure I have the mind for studying Thomism. I wasn’t really taught the underlying philosophy at a younger age and, at 41, reframing my understanding of the world to that degree may be a bit too challenging.

I have the opportunity over the next few years to pursue a second master’s degree. My teaching experience and what expertise I have is pretty heavily scripture. Still, which do you think I should do? Explanations on next tweet.

@PLiSD_Survivor @hostileworm I never lose to vegans. None has ever come remotely close to convincing me there is anything wrong with eating meat. They harm themselves by eating that way, but it leaves more meat for me so I can't complain.

i would never argue with a vegan because they’re making the morally correct decision and i’m not. i don’t have any truly sound way to counter their perspective from a moral standpoint. so i just practice cognitive dissonance and eat my beef and pork and keep my mouth shut.

@Alison937362 @Rosomane1900 @MoresJustus The belief there is grave necessity is based on the assumption that souls are endangered by attending the NO, making the TLM necessary for salvation. The assumption, in itself, is schismatic and heretical. It does not excuse the consecrations.

@shinylight887 @Rosomane1900 @MoresJustus So if they believe, as is publicly known, that they're acting out of grave necessity, why wouldn't Canon 1323 apply to them, exempting them from excommunication? They don't have to be right, but simply genuinely believe it.

I do wonder if all these cheerleaders for excommunication have ever actually been to an SSPX chapel. Once you've heard these men preach or offered them your confession, the issue seems a lot less black and white. "The sheep follow him, because they know his voice."

@shinylight887 @Rosomane1900 @MoresJustus Stop being a hypocrite! Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?
