@faul8110 That's a great point. A lot of technology has been labelled as entertainment and "not useful" in a learning environment. However, it's great to be able to reflect and see the practical applications of social media.

@EM203Nataly The increase in collaboration that digital technology has afforded us is something we take for granted!
English

This class has taught us how technology is not all bad, it enhances creativity and opportunity for collaborating with others!
Constructivism ties into this! Successful learning is based on:
-Personal connection to content 🤔
- Collaboration 👯♀️
- Self Reflection 🧐

@Em203Felix Hey Felix, I agree with the theory as I feel like when we learn something new our first instinct is to recall from past experiences to see what we already know, and what we can build off of.

Through 3 weeks of class, I have learned and had group discussions about constructivism learning theory, which states that students learn by building off prior experiences and engaging with the topic. #EM203Robin

@em203niyapancho Good to hear Niya! I enjoyed Week 3 as well, it was fun to experience learning from a different perspective in the form of being challenged to try something new :D

In #EM203Robin I been looking forward for the weekly tasks/ discussions. I loved week 3’s activity as I learned something different and not what I thought a professor would make me do. I made a jelly fish out of pipe cleaners and led lights. Looking ahead to more weekly tasks :)

@EM203RPillar Totally agree Rylinn! As digital natives, it can become easy to ignore the role tech has played in our learning- and even the continuation in innovation we've seen from our childhood to now (e.g. chatgpt)!

The first three weeks into this course and I’m already seeing how much tech shapes the way we learn and share ideas. Using Twitter has been interesting, and sudoku puzzles was something I never thought I’d like, but it actually turned out pretty fun! #EM203Robin

@EM203jbennett Great post! I've thought about this at times, we have such easy access to information in this digital age that it can become overwhelming and end up negatively impacting focus.

So far in EM203, I’ve learned that digital learning is active, collaborative, and theory-based. It blends media for better engagement, but multitasking can hurt focus. Students need support to build real skills. Excited to keep learning with X! #EM203Robin

#EM203Robin I've enjoyed the content surrounding the first few lessons because the generation of students taking this course are digital natives- we are so used to having access to technology and endless information that we rarely get to reflect on what it means for learning.
