If you want to understand the history of passing in the NFL, this chart is a good place to start. 2020 was the highest completion percentage year ever (65.2%), and also the lowest Y/C year ever (11.1). Cmp% in BLUE against the LEFT Y-Axis. Y/C in RED against the RIGHT Y-Axis.

The Jets right now project to have a bottom 8 passing game. If the Jets wind up with a bottom quartile passing game, I don’t think we’ll be seeing praise for Mougey’s process. Hopefully the Jets passing attack winds up better than it appears to be..:

@JCaporoso Need to see a lot more out of Taylor as well. To average under 30 yards per game despite competing for targets with the worst WRs in the league and a QB who always wanted to check down was very disappointing.

Yes. They have to learn from their mistake last year where they thought Josh Reynolds WR2 and Tyler Johnson WR3 in week 1 was an acceptable approach. There are two proven NFL WRs on this roster, total, right now. Room needs a ton of work between now and September and it all can't come from the NFL Draft.

Still think the Jets need to make multiple additions at WR A high end move whether it be a 1st round WR or a meaningful higher end veteran trade (or both lol) Balance the pass game and take pressure off Garrett Wilson as well as properly slot AD Mitchell Also think adding a lower end vet or day 3 move to fill out the room would be ideal.

@Terrill1012 @JCaporoso Who else can throw money at him besides the Steelers (who may not want him because of Rodgers) and the Cardinals? Dolphins, Browns, Vikings all are in much worse cap shape. Does Willis take $5M less to go there? I doubt it. And Jets actually have a solid OL and WR1.

I am not going to go crazy trying to link Reich to any QB names at this point because he's been out of the league a couple of years but I'd think trying to trade for Brissett is far more likely than any attempted Wentz reunion in FA and that the team is still somewhat likely to draft a QB by end of night two (Nuss or Simpson?)
