@RealDrJaneRuby You people are beyond evil. Trump is our president. Your hate of one person leaves any common sense and decency out the door. Please don't call yourselves Christians.

BREAKING - UNCONFIRMED
There are some reports, some speculation and unconfirmed info coming in that Trump has been taken to Walter Reed Hospital - it is currently reported that roads around the hospital have been closed, and the White House announced that the President will not appear before the public today.
(This is a developing story)

@MariaBartiromo Maybe the Iranians will find him and put him on trial for US Warcrimes?

Commentary and full text of Iran’s open letter
‘You don’t have to agree with Iran on everything. You don’t have to like their government. But when the country you’re bombing writes a more coherent, more historically literate, and more strategically sound letter than anything your own president has ever produced, maybe it’s time to ask who the real adults in the room are.’

@nicksortor Maybe don't go around proclaiming "no quarter" and deriding the Geneva conventions & concepts of mercy and then bleat about how special any US "warfighter" captured should be treated by people you make enemies of.
I hope Iran treats anyone captured with mercy & humanity. but yeah

@JoeMommalikedit @GraemeFrew5 @MikeLevin If only the US would focus on the US.
But no.
If these past few weeks have shown anything it is that clearly the actions of a deranged lunatic in the White House can have ramifications for everyone around the world.
So yeah, those of us outside the US have every right to comment

@GraemeFrew5 @MikeLevin I think you should focus on the UK

The Army Chief of Staff, a combat veteran with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, asked Pete Hegseth why he was blocking the promotions of two Black officers and two female officers who had earned them.
Hegseth refused to answer. Then he fired him.
Nine U.S. officials told NBC News that Hegseth has blocked or delayed promotions for more than a dozen Black and female senior officers across all four branches of the military.
Hegseth has now fired or sidelined more than a dozen generals and admirals.
He is an out-of-control, unqualified former TV host and nobody in the Republican Party will say a word about it because they don’t want to make Trump angry.

@MikeLevin As someone from the UK, I don't understand why Congress doesn't reign in this nonsense. They have legislative power; surely they aren't all afraid of being primaried or are they?

@millardjc77 @Tonyadamo @MikeLevin Best I can tell?
One.

Kent and Webb are describing the operational reality that the command structure changes this week were designed to prevent from being said internally. The Army Chief who would have made this argument in the Tank, the secure conference room where military leaders push back on civilian decisions, was replaced Thursday by Hegseth's former aide. The Chief of the training command that would have assessed ground operation readiness was removed the same day. Twenty-six generals and admirals fired or sidelined since February 2025.
Kent is saying publicly what those officers would have said privately. The system designed to surface exactly this kind of professional military judgment was systematically dismantled before the decision it was designed to inform.
The operational specifics are verified by today's record. Iranian air defense engaged four U.S. aircraft in one day. The helicopter corridor required for CASEVAC and resupply in a ground operation is the same corridor that was contested all day. The WSO still missing tonight is the proof of concept for what Kent is describing, a single downed aircrew required a multi-aircraft rescue operation that itself took fire for hours.
Scale that to hundreds or thousands of troops on Iranian soil and the logistics chain Kent describes becomes the entire strategic picture.
"This is not an existential war for the US's survival. It's a war of choice."
The officer who would have said that in the Tank is retired. The officer who replaced him carried Hegseth's briefcase.

@_global_reports @JamesWebb_16 Quite frankly. Yes.
Depose your shitstain president. Apologise to the world and get the fuck off an ill conceived path to global catastrophe that every other US President was sane enough to realise there was no good option here.
English

@JamesWebb_16 Given that Iran has demonstrated capacity to continue attacks, what would you have the US do? Apologise, pick up their stuff and walk away?

I just heard from a source very close to top of the White House that, following today’s shootdown of an F-15, an A-10, and the successful hits on multiple helicopters and other aircraft, the WH is choosing further escalation, including US troops on the ground. This would be madness. I truly hope that someone in the Pentagon or elsewhere can prevent this from happening. If anything was proven today, it’s that Iranian AD is still very capable and very intact.
Any US ground operation will be heavily reliant on helicopters and other slow-moving airframes. Despite the assertions of both the Pentagon and POTUS, it is crystal clear that we have not reduced Iranian AD to the point where a ground operation is even a remotely wise decision. Let alone potentially inserting by air and then being exclusively reliant on an air corridor for things such as resupply and CASEVAC. History is replete with examples where this reliance has been disastrous.
Further, the hard part would be after troops were on the objective. Our lack of manpower leaves little room for maneuver, and once static (which would be required), Americans will become a stationary target for the entire inventory of Iranian indirect fire capabilities on Iranian soil, and it is a recipe for failure.
Simply put, this is not an existential war for the US's survival. It’s a war of choice that should never have happened in the first place, and POTUS should be finding a way out, rather than clumsily and recklessly sacrificing America’s finest.
English

@TimHannan Seriously you guys need to do something.
At the moment your supposed democracy is so broken even a coup
Would probably be fetter than the status quo/leaving Trump at the helm right now

Notice how quickly all that bullshit about liberating Iranians disappeared, and now it's all about bombing them back to the Stone Age, destroying their bridges and universities, poisoning their air and water, and stealing their oil.

@PeterCronau Get fucked. Are they going to invent a word like anti semite for the Americans and then outlaw it? Your brainwashing ‘psychological operations unit’ isn’t welcome here. We are educated enough to know right from wrong. And we call it as we see it. Fuck the USA
English

🚨 NEWS ALERT 🚨
The US Embassy in Canberra has been ordered by Washington to recruit Australian opinion leaders to work for them, alongside the US military’s Psychological Operations unit, to strongly increase US propaganda efforts in Australia.
▪️“The United States has directed every American embassy and consulate across the world to launch coordinated campaigns against foreign propaganda.
▪️“The cable, signed by the secretary of state, Marco Rubio, on Monday, also suggests the embassies and consulates work alongside the US military’s Psychological Operations unit to address the problem of rampant disinformation.
▪️ “Embassies are told to recruit local influencers, academics and community leaders abroad to carry counter-propaganda messaging — an approach designed to make American-funded narratives feel locally organic rather than centrally directed.
▪️”The State Department said it…had made countering foreign “anti-American” propaganda “a top priority” — and the department would take “an assertive stance on this pernicious issue” by “fully harnessing every tool in our diplomatic toolkit”.”

@PeterCronau Maybe time to revive this term
English

@GaryTow69925189 @anchinya @PeterCronau That’s where it comes from.
Running slang for “Yank” == “Septic Tank” == “Seppo”
And yeah, my grandfather who fought in PNG in WW2 was not a fan of our “allies”

@anchinya @PeterCronau In the cobwebbed corners of my mind I have a vision of a concrete tank.
