Retired Army officer; former City Clerk. Happily married for the past 26 years and hoping for 26 more. Is it odd how I love humanity, but hate human beings?

@MoonRazor6 I purchased that same revolver when it looked like I'd be joining a certain state's Highway Patrol. I didn't. But I loved that revolver.

America has had it with Europe. Europe went way, way too far this time. If they will openly sabotage & revolt against a war to safeguard the US & THEMSELVES conducted entirely by the US agsinst imminent nuclear & missile threats, then there is no longer any reason for the United States to remain in NATO. ***In fact, i want to make something EXPLICITLY CLEAR: the actions taken by many prominent NATO members in response to the war to disarm the Iranian regime has proven @NATO to be a DIRECT SECURITY THREAT to the National Security of the United States.*** I do not say those words lightly; i understand their meaning & the gravity of those words. And i mean every single word. cc @POTUS @SecWar @SecRubio @DeptofWar @StateDept @USNATO @SecArmy @SECNAV @SecAFOfficial @USNavyCNO @CMC_MarineCorps @CENTCOM @US_EUCOM @WhiteHouse @LindseyGrahamSC @StevenCheung47 @Scavino47 @PeteHegseth @USArmy @USNavy @usairforce @usmc

Japanese bros keep posting about sausage gravy so here’s the easiest classic recipe. It’s only 4 ingredients: - country sausage - flour - milk - pepper Brown the sausage, don’t drain. Pour flower over sausage and stir until grease is absorbed. Pour milk over sausage. Season with black pepper. Cook for a couple minutes and add more milk until desired thickness. Easy day.

This is the shot you can’t get from the press site. This camera was sitting a few football fields from the SLS rocket at Pad 39B for days before launch, baking in the Florida sun, surviving rain, humidity, and whatever else the Cape threw at it. No photographer behind the viewfinder. Just a camera, a sound trigger, and a bet. The way pad remotes work: you set your camera up days in advance, dial in your composition, lock everything down, and walk away. You don’t touch it again until after the launch. The shutter fires on sound activation with a @MiopsTrigger smart+ trigger. With SLS, the four RS-25 engines ignite six seconds before the solid rocket boosters, so the camera is already firing before the vehicle even leaves the pad. You get home, pull the card, and find out if you nailed it or if a bird landed on your lens two days ago and left your a present and you got 400 photos of soemthing crappy. There’s no formula for protecting your gear this close. Some photographers build wooden boxes with doors that pop open. Some use plastic bags and tape. Some do plastic or metal barn door rigs on hinges. I tend to leave mine open just in plastic rain covers because boxes limit my composition and setup time, but that means your cameras are more exposed to the elements and whatever energy and debris comes off the pad. You’re basically gambling a camera body every time you set one. That’s what I love about this genre. There’s no playbook. You make it up as you go. Every time is an adventure. 📸 credit: me for @SuperclusterHQ - Artemis II pad remote | ~1,000 ft from Pad 39B | Kennedy Space Center

@BusinessInsider Sotomayor left 6 trips off her 2016 financial disclosure and had to amend it. Fix the Court found the omissions via public records request.

I want to say something about politicians in your area. I see lots of posts encouraging voting for native or long time residents only. I saw that on my recent post about a debate of candidates for Rep. Byron Donalds' seat. I have seen it on posts regarding Steve Hilton in California. I have no place that I call home. I always get stumped when someone asks me where I'm from. I was raised in a military family, married a military man, and have moved around all my life. I see it as providing a different perspective. A native in your community is just as apt to not be a good candidate as a transplant. My husband saw it when we lived in North Carolina. He was chairman of the planning and zoning boards in Mills River, and the good ole' boy network was a corrupt group who wanted laws passed so they could sell their land for top dollar. And vice versa, a transplant may bring detrimental ideas, but it's not a given. Vote for the candidate who most closely aligns with your values. And do not vote for a RINO. Vet them! It isn't only transplants destroying your community!

Right? To those of us that share both your background and many of the daily features of such background, the only real answer we can give is that we are "from" the United States. We grew up in the United States and abroad. In our heads, we kept what was good from each of the places we lived, and discarded the rest.

On this day, 1 April 1945, U.S. forces landed on Okinawa. >82 days of fighting >12,000 Americans killed >Over 100,000 Japanese dead >Kamikaze attacks at scale An island that showed what the invasion of Japan would cost. And what a determined enemy will do when there is nowhere left to retreat.

Yeah. The WW-II equivalent of the CJ35 was appalled at what they believed the human cost of invading the Japanese "mainland" would be. That bringing the sunshine to light up the lives of hundreds of thousands of Japanese would cost less is a very sobering thought. If you really think about it. If you really think at all.

A little throwback Thursday action. This is 2nd Platoon, Bravo Company 1st Ranger Battalion after a company live fire iteration (Rotary Wing BILAT if you’re “in the know”) at Ft Knox, KY sometime in April of 2001. Right around 25 years ago. I was a Corporal serving as 2nd Squad, Bravo Team Leader. A double “Hellyea” to anyone that can pick me out in the picture.

Maybe he could go on the same podcast tour to jerk off the Islamist and Marxist alliance like Kent and MTG and so many others have embraced? I’m sure that would vault him to victory! “Hey guys, I want the left to win and for our dominance on the world stage to diminish so we can let the borders open back up proliferate troon ideology to our children, so I’m quitting the administration that is directly opposed to all of that because I fell for propaganda made for illiterate peasants a hundred years ago.” The stupidity of this movement is highlighted on X and some other social media, but it is a losing strategy in the real world.

That system worked for a long time. That is the ONLY reason they changed it: someone needed an OER bullet.

OK, I'm not digging the new countdown lingo: "25 minutes until the opening of the launch window..." Sound like lawyers re-wrote the countdown process. How about we just stick to "3..... 2..... 1.....we have ignition!"
