godel's incompleteness is maybe the most widely misunderstood mathematical concept. people just seem to have no clue what it actually says

@godspeed_aflame close. the theorem says: if consistent → incomplete. It doesn't require consistency to state the theorem, just to make it interesting. An inconsistent system is still 'incomplete' in the technical sense, just not in a way anyone cares about

@Sephy737 Hmm. I think if you want to use \mathbb{Z} you should either write \mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z} to keep it consistent with the notation for modules, or \mathbb{Z}/(n) to keep it consistent with the ring theoretical notation. If you just use Z, Z_n instead of C_n is fine though.

I understand why you would want to call a cyclic group with n elements C_n, but like. We're all adults here, we need to stop using so many letters that we might need later. Just call it \mathbb{Z}_n please

@adamscochran Lets be clear also, in grade school you are put on a university track, a trade track, or general education track. In the USA you can be a late bloomer and make something of yourself. This "free" education comes at a cost.
