My Affordability for All agenda proposes lowering @HealthSourceRI insurance costs for 20,000 Rhode Islanders—and the executive order I signed this month will help lower those costs for 20,000 more.

@MikeWel61647760 @janrosenow Assume an average EV that uses 34 kwhr/100 miles - With cost of electricity in my area $.30/ kwhr , 100 miles requires $10.20 of electricity. My hybrid gets 45 miles per gallon. 100 miles requires 2.2 gallons of gasoline - at $3.50 per gallon, 100 miles of gas costs $7.78.

@janrosenow Hi Jan, Let’s have a look at BYD’s advances. A 1.5MW flash charger that gets you from 10% to 90% charge in 10 minutes. That’s 300kWh. At 20p/kWh that’s £60 But a 1.5MW charger is not a home charger so costs will be more like 40p/kWh Progress technically undoubtedly but at a cost

Western carmakers are retreating from EVs just as oil hits $100 a barrel. The parallels with Detroit in the 1980s are striking. They ignored fuel-efficient Japanese cars. Now they’re ignoring Chinese EVs. BYD just unveiled 600-mile range and 250 miles of charge in 5 minutes.

@ferllyr Outdoor beds? My garden is completely shaded, so I’m stuck with my greenhouse, but a big garden is my dream. I get one of each thing at a time in my pots, which is sad and hard to cook with.

This is why I moved to a flower-only greenhouse this year. If I’m lighting money on fire, I might as well have a few peonies instead of one misshapen red bell pepper.

For anyone who still hasn't grasped why nuclear power plants are the stupidest idea imaginable: New nuclear power plants cost up to 49 cents per kilowatt-hour in Europe. Solar power costs between 3 and 6 cents. Thats 16 times more expensive electricity For those now dreaming of small power plants (SMR): SMRs produce five to 30 times more nuclear waste than large reactors, and nuclear waste is a massive cost driver. Professor Dr. Lesch calls the idea of using old nuclear waste as fuel "a wonderful fairy tale that has yet to come true anywhere in the world." For all now claiming storage is no cost driver take a look what Germany had to pay and all other countries with nuclear energy generation must pay for decommissioning and storing nuclear facilities and waste in the future:

@BrianCNewberry And that idiot Magoo included in his budget a reduction in the amount credited to home owners by RI Energy for power put into the grid beyond what they use. So folks who paid for solar will get less for it. Nice disincentive.

@KathyHochul⁩ embraced this insanity & championed it, now, since she’s….slow, it finally dawns on her how reckless this is. An actual leader could’ve easily foreseen what would happen. Beware: She’s only backing off because it’s an election year. nypost.com/2026/03/20/us-…

@MoniqAR Lies. All the natural gas Rhode Islanders use comes via pipeline from New York or Massachusetts. The natural gas used in RI used to originate from Canada but, with the increasing supply in Northeast states, most now originates in Pennsylvania.

@DavidClarke "Support small business" is good but making the state business friendly is the bigger job that needs to be done to attract larger businesses. You also left out driving the cost of all energy sources down. "Act on Energy" should strategically encourage more natural gas and nukes
