I’ve spent 20+ years proving it’s rarely the Wi‑Fi… sometimes it is 😏. I built Wi-Fi Check to stop the guessing, so you can instantly know exactly where the problem resides — from iPhone → cloud. Now live on the App Store! Learn more → wificheck.net

Wi-Fi 7 router boxes market “MLO” like clients are using multiple bands simultaneously today. Reality: almost every client device is using eMLSR — connected to multiple links, but typically transmitting on only one at a time. Sort of a glorified band steering. That can help with latency and interference handling, but it’s NOT true bandwidth aggregation or simultaneous multi-band operation. Actual STR (Simultaneous Transmit & Receive) clients are basically nonexistent right now as far as we are aware. Mostly due to concerns with battery usage. The only widely available client we are aware of doing real STR MLO is Ubiquiti AirWire. So today: •Most Wi-Fi 7 clients = smart/faster link switching. Sort of glorified band steering. •True parallel multi-band networking = still mostly future state

Make wireless clients as performant as wired! WiFi 7 client that utilizes all advantages: 6GHz multi-gig speeds, ultra-low latency via STR MLO. It is also great analytic tool for high performance wireless network deployments.

Amazing course. It teaches what every IT person should know about Wi-Fi, and that you can accomplish quite a bit without spending thousands upon thousands on tools — with the right knowledge. This is that knowledge.
Devin Akin@DevinAkin

Only two slots still open on the June 3-4 Wireless Adjuster II course. The course has been fully updated, the price was lowered to $1,000 USD, and two exam vouchers are included with the course fee. Course description: divdyn.com/wireless-adjus…

With the FCC’s 6 GHz decision having reached its six-year milestone, the evidence is clear: #WiFi is fully utilizing the 6 GHz band, which is now widely adopted across both consumer and enterprise environments. It is now a foundational pillar of next-generation connectivity.

I went to my uncle's funeral this weekend. He had a great life. He was a fairly well-known researcher and his work had been cited over 450k times. The most profound thing to me is even though he died in his mid-80s, my cousin found his laptop open to a word file with text for his next book that he was working on. To be so excited about your work until the day you die is incredible and something he would’ve wished for everyone.

“No one will ever pay monthly for a speed test app”. Yeah that’s what they said to @elonmusk about @X! And Wi-Fi Check is not just another speed test, it’s a real Wi-Fi check tool that checks Wi-Fi vs Internet speed separately, measures SNR, checks LAN quality vs Internet quality, checks roams, checks applications, etc — all right from your iPhone. Remember there’s a reason why those speed test products are free, your data is the product!

Just keep going…

December 2008. I launched an iPhone app that made fart noises. Some said it was career suicide. My wife rolled her eyes. Reporters literally laughed at me on the phone. Twelve days later iFart was the #1 paid app in the App Store. It stayed there. The BBC called at 2am asking for a quote. A competitor's company sent a cease-and-desist demanding I rename it. Apple's app review team started using us as their example of "what we did not expect." Month one revenue: $200,000. Headlines around the world. The lesson wasn't "make stupid stuff." The lesson was that the gatekeepers are guessing too. This was the victory pose that day in 2008. That app is STILL ranking in the entertainment category today. What's the dumbest idea you've ever had that actually worked? #iFart #appstore

Especially if you are in a crowded category. In my case I built a real Wi-Fi troubleshooting tool for iPhone that really measures SNR, checks Wi-Fi vs Internet speed separately and so on — not just another speed test or speed test disguised as a “Wi-Fi analyzer”. When searching for relevant terms like Wi-Fi issues for example, my app comes way below all that typical speed test slop. Only way to get to the top. At least until ASO settles in and it also allows you to learn what keywords to prioritize for ASO.

@fernandesken @Joey_Walker82 Apple search ads is the best option for indie mobile app developers. It needs some effort but much less than other ads platforms.

OK so slowly getting a little momentum. I now have 10 downloads and have had 1 a day for the last 5 days. Its small but the content seems to be working. Onwards and upwards!

Take me for example. Expert in the Wi-Fi domain, ran product building cloud managed Wi-Fi products/access points, ran global customer support, etc. Im not a software developer in the traditional sense but can write/review code. I released Wi-Fi Check in January and the momentum is strong. Not just another speed test app, a real Wi-Fi troubleshooting app for iPhone. It uniquely checks Wi-Fi vs internet separately, measures SNR, signal, noise, checks roams, etc. — all right from your iPhone. Do I think someone non technical could do that, well probably partially, but they have a lot to learn to truly be successful, maintain it and so on.

@Mike22092778 @plainionist Folks that are saying that’s so not true are probably thinking about the non technical pm that just writes features in jira, that pushes a feature factory. That’s not who I’m talking about here.
