Concorde burned nearly 50% of its total fuel load between pushback & reaching Mach 2
Afterburners were used for takeoff and transonic acceleration, consuming about 32.5 liters per second. Once established at cruise, fuel flow dropped to 25,629 litres per hour (as quoted by BA in their historical review of Concorde operations).
Could modern Rolls-Royce engineers do better today?

@UndisScot The railway builders would appear to have discovered this undiscovered part if Scotland, probably a few passengers. Maybe ask them if you want help knowing where it is. Kudos points are mine.

A quick update on the places I’ve received snail mail from on my global map of online friendship! I had to stop putting pins in a few places like Ottawa, London, Paris & Dublin and also the East Coast of the US is a bit crowded!

@snufflewort Not in the UK. We have an 'official birthday' for the reigning monarch some time in June but it's not a Stat/Bank Holiday. My first visit to Victoria on this day had me assuming in was a local celebration - easy mistake.

Do other countries in the Commonwealth celebrate Victoria Day?

Today is Victoria Day or National Patriots Day in Quebec. It’s a day that marks history, identity, and the unofficial start of summer, sandals, and camping season. What are you doing today? 🇨🇦 🌞

Unpopular opinion: No driver on current F1 grid can do this type of racing Only Max Verstappen can pull off these type of Overtakes...

Verstappen is absolutely mental

@DougEyolfson So, I see this post and think what's the background? Trawl through your timeline to learn more but get hilariously stuck at maple whiskey soaked Timbit.

My 2 week migraine & relentless side effects from immunotherapy are keeping me low. Receiving gifts from profoundly generous friends is a lifeline. If you’re struggling with cancer treatment or chronic illness I’m sharing this comfort blanket from @JLWCPA2 with you. #fuckcancer

@Molly_Dog130325 These woods on a cliff near me in Bath are also smelling good - garlic, with a touch of fox and badger for those with a sensitive nose.

@pracerIII @jeffy_nl @MartinRonning95 @F1 It is the exact reason. If you don't understand the importance of why 1.0 seconds could be a rounded 1.001 or 0.999, then you don't follow F1.

@snufflewort I bought my friends on VI one of those, it had four or five different stamps styles in rotation. It was greeted with far less enthusiasm than I thought it deserved.

Incredibly random but do any other countries have these cutie little miniature mailboxes that dispense stamps? I love them so much lol

@JSS779 Never, just knocked it back and let the crew clear up - there's always more in the arrivals or transfer lounge.

Did I get mail from Guernsey? That’s almost like getting a missive from Neverland! I can’t wait to open this letter from one of the storied Channel Islands! (And yes I have seen the potato bookclub movie!) What a way to celebrate my cancer survival! #fuckcancer
