@krjollans @LUFC @lufcstats @England aye - and i forgot woodgate and the dickheads ferdinand and mills - who i seem to remember played in the whole world cup of 2002 bizarrely
English

🦁 Can you name all 33 players who have represented @England while at Leeds United? Comment below with how many you got…
English

@Yorkshire_Tales we should have won that ....Chappy gave us a good lead
English

March 21 1992, Leeds played the next day, drew 1-1 at Highbury to go 2 points clear of Man U but they had 2 games in hand…one of which was West Ham away 😉

How we got the 3pm Saturday football results in the 90s 🤩
English

@smithson291 @LukeKerrDineen this is what i want - that shift- it's so bloody difficult to do !
English

@LukeKerrDineen You also get to see the slight lateral shift on the downswing that's so important. Can't notice it on a down-the-line video clip.
English

@Jon_proctor_Esq @sdavieslaw Yes - she was a pretty fierce defence counsel when i saw her defending some chap after a prison riot in the late 80s- but they all go into politics and put their brains in neutral - look at Starmer - he wrote a bloody book about Article 6 -it's nuts.
English

@fitzroybaggers @sdavieslaw "Dame" Vera was called to the Bar in 75 had a lot of cases in the miners strike was heavily involved in poll tax cases i never saw any argument about "smaller cases" not needing juries and if anything judges were throwing down harsh sentencing so they NEEDED juries
English

I’ve just defended in one of those “smaller cases”. It was the 3rd trial listing due to repeated disclosure failures by the CPS, resulting in the Court refusing an adjournment, followed by the offering of no evidence
But yeah, it’s the fault of the defence for demanding fairness
Vera Baird DBE KC@VeraBaird
Massive delays from defendants in smaller cases demanding jury trial can only be stopped by this proportionate restructuring proposed by Leveson
English

@Jon_proctor_Esq @sdavieslaw Exactly ! thay all forget so quickly don't they!
English

@sdavieslaw Vera was an eminent QC / KC in criminal defence she defended many of these "smaller cases" in her time and she never made this argument then. It really is sad to see someone "of the left" to make such a stupid and farcical argument now
English

@NECircuitleader Masterly presentation yesterday Caroline. The poor minister had no answer - then again she has never probably even seen a criminal trial let alone acted in one .
English

It was a privilege to represent the North Eastern Circuit yesterday and make the argument that if only we are given the tools needed we can turn this around without the need to restrict the right to trial by jury.
Rebecca Paul MP@Rebecca_SPaul
My favourite moment from yesterday. @NECircuitleader giving the Minister a reality check on Labour’s nonsensical plans to limit jury trials to address the backlog.
English

@UKBackintheDay2 "We'd best head off to that studio. The racket coming from McCann sounds rather hellish, Melish."

English

@paulkimbo11 @UKBackintheDay2 they did but this was not it
English

@UKBackintheDay2 People bought any old shite in those days
English

@_W00KS_ @AzeemRafiq30 he can't bowl more than 2 spells - obvs not that committed
English

@AzeemRafiq30 Averages 21 with the ball in test cricket.
Should be playing.
English

@Kershaw444 can you imagine 7 x a panicky last 5 mins plus random additional time ........its going to be unwatchable
English

@fitzroybaggers We could just draw every game to make it interesting
English

@democracycoma1_ @siennamarla @nadinebh_ it does not have the resources to put fucking batteries in the clocks of most court buildings - hence the time is always wrong in most courts and i go to many. emblematic of the shitshow which many of us working in it have had enough of. pay up cheapskates!
English

@siennamarla @nadinebh_ Why? Because the justice system does not have the resources to provide free transcripts of entire trials to anyone that wants them for no real purpose. It's not a sensible amendment and MPs would be right to vote against it.
English

Exclusive by @nadinebh_:
Labour MPs have been told to vote AGAINST an amendment to allow victims free access to transcripts of court proceedings
Why? The minister cites preparedness and affordability 👇
politicshome.com/news/article/l…
English

@siennamarla @nadinebh_ the MOJ is a notoriously cheapskate department with no significant budget and no balls ever to ask the treasury for more.
English

@andyh2602 @OutsideCricket high performance vibes podcasting - that's what he'll be doing !
English

@OutsideCricket Key should be doing it, what else does he actually do? 🤔
English

Luke Wright resigned as England men's selector in January, and no replacement is likely until May. Brendon McCullum is having a three month vacation in New Zealand.
Who is going to be watching the County Championship to decide who will replace the underperforming Test players?
Test Match Special@bbctms
Luke Wright will step down as national selector in the latest change to the England backroom following the dismal Ashes campaign, with his departure set for the end of the T20 World Cup, after just over three years in the role.
English

@jimmaxcricket we should be grateful that he is turning up at all.
English
I am staggered Brendon McCullum is turning up just days before first Test telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2026/0…
English

@takingiteasy62 @McClumsy84 i still feel that together with Paris 75
English

@McClumsy84 1973 Cup Final - Sunderland, Jim Montgomery. I was 11 - horrific!
English

What was your worst season supporting Leeds United? Mine has to be 2006/07. Ken Bates in charge, Dennis Wise as manager. Relegated to League 1, enter admin, deducted 10 points, Bates buys us back, deducted another 15 points. Nightmarish times. Can't ever be worse, can it? #lufc
English

@petermaurice22 @yorxman The journey home from Birmingham was miserable & silent.
