My thoughts on how to value a company: I don't invest in non-generating assets. A story is nice, and you can get the companies story from X, the news, or just imagining how their business plays out over time. Ask yourself, how much business can they do? How many competitors could they have? Is the company moving in the direction I would like to see them go? etc. How is the industry doing right now? How strong is it's moat? The price is just a number until you compare that number with others and can derive a context. You want to compare the company to it's competitors (why buy $HD when you can buy $LOW?). You also want to compare the company to itself (why is $INTU trading at 35PE when over the last 5 years it averages over 60PE?). Then you want to compare it within it's "class." There are different "classes" of companies. You can define these yourself and they are not hard set. From high growth, to dividend generation. For example: no one invests in $VZ because it's growing like crazy, no one invests in $RKLB because they are profitable. This normally plays into how risky a stock is. If you are looking for high risk/growth, comparing $SLDP to $F isn't going to do anything for you. The only way to come up with price targets (besides guessing) is to extrapolate amount of growth (looking at trends and catalysts) and PE expansion(which way the price needs to move to catch up/keep up with the growth[earnings]). Sometimes all it takes is the story to kick you out of an investment. $PATH has competition from $MSFT, $IBM and others. They aren't doing something these bigger names couldn't do, but the bigger names are not willing to invest in building out what $PATH is building. This makes me hesitant to invest in an already high risk company.

@itsbullionaire_ By that logic, if you bought the S&P500 minus whatever companies you like instead, you should have a 90% chance to beat the market.

There are a couple problems I have with $TSM. The first is the CHIPS Act, and now the US Government owning part of $INTC. The stronger $INTC is and the more the US in invested in $INTC the less likely we are to "protect" $TSM and the more likely China is to invade. The more I watch the first problem, the more I think *I* value the company less than a China stock. Chances are in 30 years it will be a China stock. And between now and then, an invasion etc. It's all so uncertain, and markets don't like uncertainty. Lots of people realize how important the company is and so at the moment it's stock is doing well. I think one day, a switch could be flipped and the stock will be "worthless." I would play the stock with this in mind and would be trying to "time" the stock - a bad idea. And If I'm uncertain, I'd rather find something I believe in. This post was kinda ramble-y sorry..

Your precious VOO isn’t safe from the Chinese invading Taiwan. Matter of fact, the whole market isn’t safe. Let’s crunch some numbers. Here are the top 10 holdings of the SP500 and their reliance on TSM NVDA - exclusive chip manufacturer AAPL - exclusive chip manufacturer AVGO - significant portion of chips GOOG - TPU/Tensor chips META - MTIA AI chips AMZN - Graviton/Trainium/Inferentia chips MSFT - Maia AI chip TSLA - Dojo chips BRK.B - N/A 9 out of 10 of have some need for TSM It is also estimated that at least 40% of the entire SP500 has some sort of reliance on TSM (and could be upwards of 50% don’t quote me) Yes TSM and my SMH would get pelted hard by an invasion, but so would everyone else so I’m willing to take this risk for potentially A LOT more upside🫡

@WJandc @rawsalerts @disclosureorg "I feel like He would want us to explore and discover and possibly meet all of the beauty created." I agree and that is why I think there aren't aliens further away than we can meet. :p

@five__talent @rawsalerts @disclosureorg I guess my hang up is the universe being made for just man. I know it’s just my opinion, but I don’t feel like it would’ve been made for just us. I feel like He would want us to explore and discover and possibly meet all of the beauty created.

I'm trying to decipher your question.. Why many of us think "Aliens" = "Demons" The scale and physical laws that govern our universe would make it implausible to be visited by other creatures. However, the Bible mentions the heavens opening up, which falls in line with multi-dimensional. There are other creatures talked about or described in the Bible (different types of Angels). Some of these were sleeping with the "daughters of man" in the days of Noah. This is the origin of the nephilim. In the end times, things on earth will be like in the days of Noah, which seems to point towards these evil creatures coming and going from earth. There's lots of theory, but nothing directly spelled out, but this should give you a start. Why we may or may not believe in "Aliens" The universe seems vast to you much like an ant may think my room is large. We don't think there is a necessity to add more creatures to this universe, but we also don't say "God *only* created on this planet." Many of us like to think it points out how much God loves us that he would create all of this just for us though. God didn't just spell everything out in black and white. He gave us what we needed to get started, and what we couldn't find out on our own through exploration and testing. There is plenty we don't need to know, and He gave us a nature to seek out answers we don't have.

@rawsalerts @disclosureorg Serious question: to the Christians, who believe on human intelligence are or must be demons- can you tell me what drives that belief? It seems to me that given such a vast universe, God would have created more than one species to inhabit it all.

Let's say you buy a house on a 5% mortgage. You decide to invest while making minimum payments for 30 years because 5%<8%. Do you get a new mortgage on the same house in 30 years to re-invest while making more payments? Can anyone show me someone who pulled another mortgage out on their house to invest in the market?

What's your time horizon? If it's a long ways off the S&P is better because you can sit through the draw-downs and get a better average ROI over the years. If your time horizon is shorter, TBills seems far safer, better on taxes and similar returns sans the stock movement. I don't think the stock movement should be considered as looking at the stock price, you are not considering selling it at the highs like you would a growth stock which is no longer growing. Overall, I don't care what people do with their money... Bury it in a hole in the backyard and tell me it's safe from banks collapsing for all I care. I think it's stupid, but if it makes you happy I'll hand you a shovel.

@cliffcornell_ Most dividend companies increase their dividends annually by at least 5%. So if you tell me I have a pretty worry free 4% that increases annually by more than typical inflation while also growing with the market then I will gladly sign on for a pretty relaxed retirement. Thanks

This was my initial reaction! However, I think the problem is the leaking confidential information which could have compromised the mission. It says his wife was also arrested and he's not allowed to discuss that with his wife if he did. I need more information before justifying his actions.

There's a lot of reasons I won't touch $TSLA or SpaceX. Elon Musk sets unrealistic goals "to hit the realistic goals sooner." I see this as I can't trust his word. Elon Musk dove into something that took his focus away from $TSLA (politics) and the stock suffered. I can see the same thing happening if he has a legal obligation to two different companies in this way. People guessing the IPO is valued around $1.75T. I'd assume these people are applying the same multiple as they do to $TSLA, so a real valuation of $175B valuation. I haven't seen anything financial, but that seems high for an internet service focusing on under populated areas. $CMCSA has only $113B marketcap. Many of the people who are "betting on Elon" or consider themself an "Elon Bro." will be rotating money out of $TSLA to put into SpaceX. Many of these people love the hype no matter how bad the bet.

I didn't act like there was no further details. I gave an accurate, direct answer to her question. Her bill aims to host a free tax service (similar to the free version of TurboTax) on the IRS website. It would provide a similar (and probably inferior) service which is already being provided by others (TurboTax or one of the 8 partners listed on the IRS website). While $INTU may lose some market cap, TurboTax will still be a far better product, and offer better support. $INTU also provides more products and services than just TurboTax. The people most likely to use IRS Direct File are already using the current "free, online, and direct" services provided by the IRS partners. The program saw 2% of the eligible participants actually sign up. 60% of those who did sign up didn't even file through the program. One of the biggest drawbacks, is you still have to use a different service for your state returns. You would have to fill out all the same information twice! The more I look into this, the more useless it gets! Everyone has dealt with the government enough to know it sucks at everything it does. Your quote: "Dealing with the government is as painful as possible." supports my argument that IRS Direct File would not kill TurboTax.
