Do you really wanna do this? Ugh, fine. Scripture referring to other beings as Elohim is a fact. It’s in your Bible, you can’t dispute that. Other nations worshipped some of these beings as gods. Heiser taught that “Elohim” was a place of residence term. Those that inhabited the spiritual realm were referred to as Elohim God is THE Elohim, the others are lesser beings in all cases. The elohim other nations worshipped were real spiritual beings, and as spiritual beings they inhabited the spiritual realm and were therefore elohim. We know they were real spiritual beings because, like in the case of the exodus, God tells us He was going to judge them. You’re getting hung up on a label rather than properties. You can chalk these spiritual beings up to being demons. Cool. Heiser would agree, but scripture itself refers to them as elohim because they inhabit the spiritual realm. That’s not polytheism. Calling it polytheism because scripture refers to these beings as elohim is like calling me a polytheist because I called my rug an elohim. Clearly I’m not a polytheist simply because I gave something a label, it’s what you attribute to it that matters. If scripture refers to other beings as elohim, it’s not polytheism to accept that because those other gods aren’t being given worship or having attributes given to them that belong to God alone. This is how stupid the “discernment” crowd is, they can’t defend their position but only throw stones about crap they don’t understand.

See how stupid Heiser makes people? These people think there are literally other gods but believing in other gods isn't polytheism. It's only worshiping other gods that make you a polytheist. You see how foolish these people are?

Studies and surveys by the Barna Group and the Pew Foundation vividly show that our traditional, institutional model of “church” in the West is a dismal failure. Conversely, outside the West the Church is growing by leaps and bounds as it embraces the New Testament’s mandates for gathering together as the multi-gifted, relational and participatory Body of Christ to build up each other through ministry one to another. Is it any wonder then that Western “Churchianity” is in crisis as it ignores those Biblical mandates but instead organizes around: ▪The one gifted man and his “anointed” ministry; ▪Hierarchical and position-focused “leadership”; ▪Podium-controlled staged meetings with passive pews for spectators who are expected to do little more than drop money in a plate while following along as others put on a scripted, manipulative “worship service”; ▪Monopolizing, monologue sermons; ▪The bondage of tithing; ▪Resource-sucking infrastructure, staff and buildings; and ▪Ministry centered on “professional” clergy?

Calvinists are funny. I used the same words that RC Sproul and Jonathan Edwards did, about the "holy rape of the soul" and I was told by a Calvinist that I am a degenerate, blasphemous fool. I guess RC Sproul and Jonathan Edwards were degenerate, blasphemous fools.

Currently reading through a family discipleship book with my church and within a few pages I can tell the author is a Calvinist… Little things I would have overlooked in the past leap out at me now.

Starting the detox phase of my treatment today, to pull the poisons out of my body. More than 30 pills a day. I healed more in the initial phase (microbiome reset) than anyone thought possible. I am a little scared; it will bring back some old symptoms as the toxins get pulled into circulation to be eliminated. Prayer would be appreciated!! Yes, I put a little whip cream on top of my beet-banana-cocoa smoothie. Not sorry

I'm producing a rap album based on my Christian & political views. In my opinion its my best work yet. The question is do I release it on streaming services under Idol Killer, or do I use a different name & remain anonymous?

“The Pastor” of a church, ministry or whatever … Is a phrase and a concept utterly absent from the New Testament. Nope, not, nada … Just ain’t there. Instead, it comes from reading post-Biblical assumptions, presumptions and meanings not found in Scripture back into Scripture. In the New Testament, some minister pastorally … As simply one of many different functions expressed within a healthy church by a diversity of people. More specifically, the New Testament references multiple elders in each church, each of whom is to functionally pastor … As well as teach, watch over and protect God’s flock, among other things. But no one is ever called a “Senior Pastor,” “Lead Pastor,” or any other form of “Pastor” in the New Testament … And the word is never, ever used as justification for one person to be over a church. Be a Berean … Search Scripture to see if these things be so. Then have the courage to follow what God’s Word actually says … Rather than subsequent human traditions.

A theologian isn’t always a pastor, I get that. But a pastor without solid theology? That’s a problem.

@PlumblineFaith Failing empires put “children” on the battle line. Please don’t misunderstand I think we (most over 60) as a whole, have failed to develop younger generations for leadership. Service doesn’t seem to be a problem but leadership is held too tightly. Politics and church!

No one should be allowed into church leadership … Until they’ve first learned to successfully make their own way in life through their own initiative and labor. Otherwise, the Body of Christ will continue to be plagued with legions of insecure people clinging to “ministry” out of need … Rather than legitimate calling, tempered with actual life experience. Paul affirmed this in his own ministry … And in his credentials for elders and deacons. It’s time to return to the Biblical norms he set forth. Otherwise, so-called “pastors” will continue to assert their presumed prerogatives over others rather than promote others over themselves as Christ commands … Because they know they have no other vocational options.

@crwiley1962 Jesus never said to be a “servant leader.” Instead, He said to be a servant … Just a servant (period). Anything else is more about you … Than about Him or others.

“Servant leaders” don’t lead by serving, they serve by leading. Failure to see this makes a leader the servant of emotional manipulators.

A terrifying interview with Aileen Wuornos, the serial k*ller who k*lled seven people in less than a year. I can't forget the look of despair she showed in court when she found out her lover had betrayed her.

@BraxHunter Since I’ve stopped outsourcing my faith I am finding many (what doctrines?) things that where with held over me or held out to be “dangerous to my soul”. This is one of them. I have also determined myself to be a Heretic. Because everyone is a Heretic to someone’s Ortho!
