Brooklyn: Ocean Drive & Surf Avenue, a man was shot and killed while sitting in his car overnight, and the disturbing part, no one called 911. Around 1:37 a.m. two weeks ago, police were alerted not by witnesses, but by a ShotSpotter activation, a system that detects gunfire and alerts authorities in real time. When officers from the @NYPD60Pct arrived, people at the scene told them multiple shots had been fired. What investigators later pieced together is even more chilling, the victim had been shot at that location, then managed to drive roughly half a mile before crashing his vehicle in front of 2590 West 35th Street, behind the @NYCHA Coney Island Houses, where he ultimately died. Officers discovered the 38-year-old man inside the crashed vehicle with gunshot wounds to the torso and arm. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Ronald Williams from Atlanta, Georgia. Later that day, @NYPDDetectives puzzled together the entire story, and have arrested 31-year-old Eugene Ohemeng, who lives in the Coney Island area of Brooklyn.
