This is sickening, but i’m afraid as others have commented, this isn’t going to stop with Lucy. It seems by what you’re sharing they aren’t going to stop. It could be in the future one of your other pets. You have to do what’s best for your family but if you can find a way to move.

We were hopeful for Lucy’s release today. That did not happen. So tonight, we are still waiting. Still praying. Still fighting. But things do seem to be moving in the right direction for Lucy, and for that, I am so grateful. That said, today was also deeply eye-opening for me. And not in a good way. Photos were brought up today of one of our dogs from a fight between our two Pyrenees littermate brothers that happened years ago on our property—a situation completely unrelated to Lucy or anyone else. It should be noted that littermate aggression, especially before neutering, is a common issue in dogs. These were rescue dogs from a poor breeding situation, and based on advice from experienced breeders, we delayed neutering in hopes of allowing for better physical development and reducing future joint and hip problems. Those photos were taken entirely out of context, without my knowledge or consent, and were being used as evidence against us. (I’ll quickly note that those dogs have long-since been neutered and are just a couple of big teddy bears.) When I questioned how it is legal for neighbors to photograph our property and animals, I was told they absolutely can surveil and report whatever they see fit. It was even suggested they should given the circumstances. I honestly had no words. To sit there feeling like we are some sort of violent criminals who need to be monitored by self-appointed watchdog neighbors was beyond infuriating. We were called liars. Told we had “misrepresented” Lucy’s story. Told it was all our fault Lucy is locked away and that we had let her down. Told we were wrong for allowing this to gain attention on social media. We simply told our story and it resonated with people. I’m not sure how you could fault us for that. But, let me reiterate clearly, once again, because we have always been transparent: Lucy was involved in fights with two dogs over a decade, years apart, with the most recent being over a year ago. We were horrified. We paid the vet bills. We took responsibility. Then, about a year ago, shortly after surgery, while heavily medicated, in pain, and wearing a cone, Lucy bit a passing jogger after slipping loose. It was a terrible situation, one we also took full responsibility for, paid the ER bills, and deeply apologized. This occurrence is what set the dangerous dog declaration into motion. Agreeing to that dangerous dog declaration is what gave them the power to take Lucy after a brief leash slip. We were told for the first time today, that had she been muzzled, we wouldn’t be in this situation. It’s that simple. The terrifying part in all of this is not that we are pretending mistakes never happened. It’s that isolated moments and selective images can apparently be used to create a false story about a family while years of responsible ownership are completely ignored. Neighbors have spent years gossiping, sharing photos, creating text chains and Facebook groups, and pushing false narratives about our family, and we are being told there is little protection against it. Because while there may not be laws against cruel, invasive, or obsessive behavior, there certainly seem to be plenty of laws waiting for families to make a mistake. Imagine living under the feeling that every movement on your property is being watched and documented to potentially be weaponized against you. It is deeply disturbing. That said, I truly do believe the DA has Lucy’s best interest at heart and we remain hopeful she will be returned to us. If you continue contacting the Commonwealths Attorney’s office, please remain kind. I beg you. We are still standing. We are still fighting. And we believe Lucy is coming home. Please continue praying for Lucy’s release, for our family, and for my emotional and mental well-being. This has been incredibly heavy to carry. Change needs to happen. It will happen. And I believe Lucy’s story is going to help bring it. We miss her so much! #savelucy

Today was a rollercoaster. @Herb_Minstrel and I went on air with #SeanHannity to talk about our fight to #SaveLucy. That was one of the highest honors of my lifetime. Thank you, Sean. Then I spoke with the DA. That was also an honor, but the experience was more difficult. I can honestly that she's the kind of DA I wish we had more of in America. That said, Lucy remains in her cell. I have a strong feeling, however, that I'll be posting a story someday soon in which the DA will feature as one of the heroes. Sad that Lucy is not back, but still moving forward. Will write more about both experiences, but for now I'm emotionally spent. Sorrowful, but still rejoicing. #SaveLucy

Ím sorry about that happened to you, I understand why you feel that way. I’m a huge advocate on being a responsible pet parent. I am extremely vigilant with my pets and dońt let them loose. If someone knocks on my door I make sure that are put away before opening. If I have people in my home that dońt know my pets. I let them know I have pets and I make sure they are in their space away.

@fla_yami @LoneStarChica I was attacked by a ‘pittie mix’ while delivering mail. It was snowing & owner ran around bare foot trying to control dog which pinned me against a wall w/my pant leg in its mouth. Learned owner was a Boston cop. Only dog that ever attacked me. Cried all day. Hate that breed.

In Texas, this dog was labeled “DANGEROUS.” Look at her. Nine pounds. Absolutely terrifying, right? 😉 Yet a Texas city declared this little dog “dangerous” and hit the owner with a $525 fine. No mauling. No injury at all. A woman at a dog park simply claimed the dog “scared her.” That’s it. This is why cases like Hachi, Jack, Zak, and #SaveLucy matter so much. When laws are stretched this far, any dog and any owner can become the next target. #txlege

Wow, I ´m so sorry. That is crazy I really hope you find a way to resolve that. The amount is insane. It definitely sounds like it had to do with her breed. The breed has been demonized for so long and people are cruel and take advantage. I love Pit Bulls and they are the most grateful, loving and loyal pets.

I had a pit bull (probably mixed) for 17 years. Best dog ever. She died in 2024. Back in 2013-2014, we had an incident with a gas company worker. My dog, Pepper was in a back room on one side of the house. I didn’t think of it till later but he (gasman) was outside that room’s window checking the meter. She never was aggressive toward people, so I wondered later if he teased her. He came to the door and knocked, and stood there talking to me for some time. When I opened the door slightly to take the paper he wanted to give me, Pepper suddenly charged the door and busted out! I was so surprised I couldn’t react. She was jumping around him barking and he was screaming and swatting at her. I tried to get him to just stop, so I could get ahold of her. He swung at her, hit her in the mouth, but of course he said she bit him. I know this is long, but it’s been brought but strongly recently, because in December 2025 I got a summons for a hearing supplemental. I received one notice that he had filed a suit in 2015. Nothing else until the end of 2025. Apparently they had a hearing in 2017 (unbeknownst to me,) and awarded him a summary judgment for $90+ thousand, now 9 years of interest later I owe him almost $200K! He made a big deal about a pit bull getting him! If she had been a different breed, he might not have sued.

People are concerned about paying their mortgage or rent, affording groceries and paying for gas, not about putting together a $1.8 billion fund for the President and his allies to pay whomever they wish with no legal precedent or accountability. This is adding to our national debt. If there needs to be a settlement, the administration should bring it to Congress to decide.

@MeliHoneybee92 @LoneStarChica Thank you HOA are the worst, to be honest they really didn’t like me because I would fight them on everything. I couldn’t take it anymore plus I wanted more acreage. My dogs are so happy now, they have a big yard and yes their very own room

@fla_yami @LoneStarChica Aww, your dogs are beautiful! They’re definitely spoiled, as they should be. All pets deserve to be spoiled anyway. I live in Florida, and I’m glad I don’t have an HOA because I’ve heard so many horror stories about dealing with them.

Aww poor baby, I don’t understand some people. In Florida, they can come up to your driveway and backyard if it’s open but can not come into your home unless you give them permission or they have a warrant. It’s not that easy to get a warrant and it would have to be a serious ongoing issue. Like in my case I complied by going outside and talking to them and politely said they can’t come in my home nor would I take my dog out to them. Most of us see authorities and want to comply but we have rights. There are a lot of inexperienced workers And worse we all have that annoying neighbor. I am tired of reading all these heartbreaking stories. I want all pet parents to know their rights. In most cases people just automatically comply because they don’t realize what was told to animal control. So once you let them in your home or take your pet to them you just surrendered your rights. I knew when I started rescuing Pitties I had to be prepared.

I live in Corpus Christi Tx. I don’t think we have any dog laws. Or maybe they are just too preoccupied with the water situation to enforce them. Seriously, there are dogs and cats running loose all over the city. My dog is 12, overweight and can barely get up and down, besides he is a teddy bear! He stays in the yard when outside, but he can still bark loud, so the mail man pepper sprayed him because he was walking toward him barking.

Excuse me ma'am! In the photo of your dogs lounging on their glorious dog bed, that beautiful white baby has their head resting on the railing! They clearly needed you to fluff a pillow just right and place it in the optimal position 🤣🤣 Sorry, I couldn't resist ♡ They're beautiful and wonderfully loved!

While I support the administration's efforts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, the White House and Pentagon have left Congress in the dark on Operation Epic Fury. In Louisiana, I’ve heard from people, including President Trump’s supporters, who are concerned about this war. Until the administration provides clarity, no congressional authorization or extension can be justified.

I hate the spotlight. The stage is a scary place. I just want a quiet life. But this cause is worth it. Lucy is worth it. This is not just about Lucy. What has happened to me and Lucy will happen again. It will repeat, over and over. In Kalamazoo, Michigan. In Walla Walla, Washington. In Schenectady, New York. To Joe and Buddy. To Mike and Sadie. To Jane and Teddy. It will happen to them, but nobody will know. They will love their dogs no less than I love Lucy, but nobody will hear their story. It will not steal the spotlight the way Lucy's story has. They will cry out for justice, but it will be in vain. Few will listen. Few, but the Lord above will. God put Lucy and me in the spotlight to be their voice. To advocate for Joe, Mike, and Jane. To advocate for Buddy, Sadie, and Teddy. To push for change. Lord, let me live up to the responsibility you have placed on my shoulders. This crap needs to never happen again. Never, never, never, never, never. #SaveLucy @Herb_Minstrel @LoneStarChica @catturd2
