@cullenoncurling 12 year old girls are not known for relinquishing their fashion in order for a more efficient delivery. Just make that hip flex! Luckily, it was the 90s, when stretch was in every pair, rather than the 80s. I'm sure it was quite the sight.

My mom unearthed this gem from my second curling season. With this form it’s probably understandable why I never won anything

@EdTubb Just like at Christmas. On Monday, I had 6 hours (1/2 hour each) of phone calls and each one had someone with COVID on it. These are all people who are vaccinated, work from home and are able to be "careful." None of them travelled over March break. Got sick during the break.

The number of active outbreaks in Ontario seniors' homes (blue) is now clearly rising, and quite sharply. Since these are one of the few places where a lot of tests are still being done, I personally think this is a pretty undeniably signal of community spread.

@IrfanDhalla This is true, but it must also be said that the main East Toronto vaccination clinic is located in Thorncliffe Park. It has long hours and abundant space. Addressing hesitancy through local healthcare practitioners (NP, Family Dr) may increase uptake.

Leaside and Thorncliffe Park are right next to each other, yet there is a 59% difference in vaccination rates. School-based clinics during school hours at every school would have reduced (and could still reduce) this gap substantially.
Tai Huynh@taimhuynh

What are the risks of unmasking Toronto schools? That depends on the school because neighbourhood differences are so wide: Leaside: 73% of kids fully vaxxed Thorncliffe Park: 14% of kids fully vaxxed My latest analysis in @thelocalhealth thelocal.to/school-tracker/

@RahRahRaina My father-in-law swears by Deezer. This is a man who makes us listen to Moist - Silver on CD endlessly because he changed a speaker cable and you *might* be able to hear the coughing in the background better with this cable. A true sign of audio quality!

@DGBassani I am so sorry. My dad was told this, 57 years ago, at the age of 10. His oldest sister had just been killed in a car accident. He held onto it for a long time, and didn't grieve until his marriage to my mom. Grief itself is heavy enough, and a child can only bear their own grief.

@PHealthGnome I had a nurse (who works on a COVID unit) tell me if someone can get dressed and eat breakfast, they aren't sick enough to stay home. And if they are a child who can't do those things, no books or screens. So her kids went to school just because being sick was boring. As did she.

@piya Love (not) the pivot of the snow day to remote teaching at 7 pm on Sunday, despite previously released policy. Teachers are taking the brunt of this one.

@DFisman There is a sign at the pool at our trailer park that reads "Please do not wear socks in the pool, hot tub, or sauna." So she's not wrong in calling that out.

@DrKateTO Children in the class were notified by the principal, but TPH didn't send out the letters until days later because contact tracing broke at the end of December. Most parents not directly affected found out on the school yard. Known cases never went to prov dashboard.

Parents, prior to schools closing in late December did you check some random government website to find out whether there was a case of COVID-19 in your child's class? Or did your child's principal/daycare director and local PHU share that information with you? #SafeReturn #onted
Richard Southern@RichardCityNews

NEW - NEW - Shouldn’t parents be told immediately of a Covid case in a classroom, I ask education minister Lecce. He says that information will be available on the website, Though parents have to proactively look it up.

@Abn_RN Today, we got our kids their second shots. We met 3 families from our school at the clinic. All parents boosted, kids early vaxxed. All white & privileged. All waited over 1 hr in line with their kids, even with an appt. We need to do more to help racialized and underprivileged.

This will be my most sincere tweet ever. I am pleading with anyone who will listen. I’m begging you, as a nurse, from the bottom of my heart…please get vaccinated. Today. I’m so tired. We’re all so tired. And we’re running out of resources and people. Please…please help us.

@drmwarner And invest in our healthcare system. That's longer term, but we need to make sure we have enough healthcare workers and that means we need to pay them accordingly. So people with an affinity for caring choose that career.
