@rayferraro21 It doesn’t even appear that they ask their own brains if it’s the right move. Bowman needs to try the old George Costanza opposite thing. If every natural instinct he has is wrong then…..
English

The thing with a hometown discount is that there is never any guarantee that the GM you leave the money with will do the right thing… It's not like they ask the player if the moves going forward are the right ones.
Thomas Drance@ThomasDrance
And that was the last time an elite player left money on the table.
English

@TheMrWilhauk Agreed. There are also reasons that are obvious to everyone. Putrid start and seems like he lost the room but he was forced to play a goalie that was arguably the worst of the entire cast of characters over the last several years.
English

@fleedog30 There are always reasons people get fired that are not public knowledge or will be made public
English

Remember all the arm chair GM’s wanting Henrique & Janmark traded???
You are now seeing how bad the Oilers are missing Henrique & Janmark! The Penalty kill is ending the Oilers season.

@AustinHockeyYT Knob is in over his head. Cassidy is not. Cassidy has said he would love the challenge of coaching a Cdn team to the Cup. Oilers stick with Knob. Rinse and repeat with this organization.
English

Now that I've slept on last night's first round exit, these are the three most important decisions the Oilers organization has to make this off-season:
1) Fire Kris Knoblauch & Mark Stuart
2) Trade Darnell Nurse
3) Acquire a goaltender. Cossa? DiPietro? #LetsGoOilers
English

@nielsonTSN1260 Hahahaha “a bowl of salad” also describes the coach. Plain, boring and nobody wants it.
English

@CoffeeSacred @JasonGregor Can’t go on that crazy of a run without the right system/players. It’s who it literally never happens.
English

@fleedog30 @JasonGregor They were middle of the pack that season in PK. Just went on a crazy run.
English

@BleedOilBlue Another middle 6 smallish scoring forward incoming in 3…2…1…
English

@ProGolfCritic @livgolf_league You mean there is a way I could watch every shot of guys who either don’t give a shit about winning or those who just aren’t very good at golf?? Every…single…shot??? Incredible news!
English

1️⃣Commercial free app.
2️⃣I know who’s playing every event.
3️⃣ I can watch every shot from all my fave players.
Simple, easy to understand & irrefutable.
You can ask any @livgolf_league fan & they can give you 3 faster than you can breathe. Passion & reasoning. PGAT fans struggle.
Doug@Doubledowndoug
@ProGolfCritic @PGATOUR Okay, give me 3 reasons why it’s a superior product.

@MarkPavelich @cmcdavid97 Nah. The real problem is that they are near league worst at the most important position. Gretzky, Brady, Lemieux, Jordan NEVER had a roster black hole like that.
English

Here’s the problem.
The second you start calling your own team “Average” with high expectations, you’ve already lost the room.
That’s not leadership—that’s distance.
You never heard
Wayne Gretzky do that.
Or Mario Lemieux.
Or Michael Jordan.
Or Tom Brady.
Those guys didn’t separate themselves from the team—they dragged the team up with them. And there’s a reason they all have rings. Multiple.
People forget something real quick. When Gretzky left Edmonton, the Oilers won the Cup second season after. Let that sink in.
Right now, Connor McDavid is the best player in the league.
No debate.
But if the mindset doesn’t shift, he risks becoming something nobody wants to be—
The most talented player of his era with a highlight reel full of magic… and nothing to show for it when it matters most.
Someone had to say it.

@JasonGregor @ConAirNcCagevid Ok but if the system ever gets 50 in a row, then obviously the system works. Even with crap goaltending they’ve had. You claimed they could fix it with system and goaltending. Hadn’t Stuart been using the same system the last 3 years?
English

Important to note Oilers PK was a dreadful 67.1% in 22 playoff games last year when they went to Cup Final. Had Kulak, Brown, Janmark, Henrique last year in top 8 PKers and it still struggled. So, to me that is system and goaltending.
Jmac@fleedog30
@JasonGregor It’s almost like they had better penalty killers when they didn’t allow a pp goal in like 50 attempts
English

@JasonGregor @ConAirNcCagevid Toronto was top 3 in pk this year so don’t think it’s as much goaltending?
English

@ConAirNcCagevid picking one 50 kill stretch doesn't mean much. Had great PK in 2024 Cup fun. Had brutal one in 2025. Both years you got to Cup. And Janmark, Brown, Henrique were on both.
English

@JasonGregor Yeah but the year before didn’t they go almost 50 in a row? Why move away from that system/players?
English

@optimaxbenefits @EdmontonOilers Nobody. They made a lot of money this year and that’s all Katz cares about
English

@Wavytiger @theblockspot One round earlier than normal when they’re a bit healthier.
English

@KeithOlbermann Year 10 of 97 and the best they can come up with is a career AHL’er
English

Kind of hard to believe that the Oilers are going to burn the prime years of McDavid and Draisaitl because management couldn't find a #1 goalie with a 100-game shelf life for 12 consecutive seasons or more
