What is your safe shot, or your go to shot when you are under pressure and feeling the nerves. Very interested to see what Golf Twitter says to this question

@rayferraro21 It doesn’t even appear that they ask their own brains if it’s the right move. Bowman needs to try the old George Costanza opposite thing. If every natural instinct he has is wrong then…..

@TheMrWilhauk Agreed. There are also reasons that are obvious to everyone. Putrid start and seems like he lost the room but he was forced to play a goalie that was arguably the worst of the entire cast of characters over the last several years.

Remember all the arm chair GM’s wanting Henrique & Janmark traded??? You are now seeing how bad the Oilers are missing Henrique & Janmark! The Penalty kill is ending the Oilers season. #LetsGoOilers

@AustinHockeyYT Knob is in over his head. Cassidy is not. Cassidy has said he would love the challenge of coaching a Cdn team to the Cup. Oilers stick with Knob. Rinse and repeat with this organization.

Now that I've slept on last night's first round exit, these are the three most important decisions the Oilers organization has to make this off-season: 1) Fire Kris Knoblauch & Mark Stuart 2) Trade Darnell Nurse 3) Acquire a goaltender. Cossa? DiPietro? #LetsGoOilers

Katz will do a full evaluation of management, coaching and players in the next few weeks. Once he decides who stays, then they have to focus on: Solidify goaltending position. Ensure team commits to playing sound defense. Get better penalty killers and a better PK system.

The Oilers need to fix the same things… again. Goaltending. Penalty kill. Team defence. Feels like I’ve been saying this for 11 years. And yet… I still like their chances next year if they finally make the right changes.

@MarkPavelich @cmcdavid97 Nah. The real problem is that they are near league worst at the most important position. Gretzky, Brady, Lemieux, Jordan NEVER had a roster black hole like that.

Here’s the problem. The second you start calling your own team “Average” with high expectations, you’ve already lost the room. That’s not leadership—that’s distance. You never heard Wayne Gretzky do that.
Or Mario Lemieux.
Or Michael Jordan.
Or Tom Brady. Those guys didn’t separate themselves from the team—they dragged the team up with them. And there’s a reason they all have rings. Multiple. People forget something real quick. When Gretzky left Edmonton, the Oilers won the Cup second season after. Let that sink in. Right now, Connor McDavid is the best player in the league. No debate. But if the mindset doesn’t shift, he risks becoming something nobody wants to be— The most talented player of his era with a highlight reel full of magic… and nothing to show for it when it matters most. Someone had to say it. 🏒 #LetGoOilers

@JasonGregor @ConAirNcCagevid Ok but if the system ever gets 50 in a row, then obviously the system works. Even with crap goaltending they’ve had. You claimed they could fix it with system and goaltending. Hadn’t Stuart been using the same system the last 3 years?

your point of 50 kills in a row...but same killers in regular season were 79%. Then got on a heater in playoffs and went 94.3%. Not sustainable as shown by results before and after. PK from year to year vary across the NHL. It is different than top PP who often remain at top for years.

Important to note Oilers PK was a dreadful 67.1% in 22 playoff games last year when they went to Cup Final. Had Kulak, Brown, Janmark, Henrique last year in top 8 PKers and it still struggled. So, to me that is system and goaltending.
Jmac@fleedog30

@JasonGregor It’s almost like they had better penalty killers when they didn’t allow a pp goal in like 50 attempts

@ConAirNcCagevid picking one 50 kill stretch doesn't mean much. Had great PK in 2024 Cup fun. Had brutal one in 2025. Both years you got to Cup. And Janmark, Brown, Henrique were on both.

The Dallas Stars were the 2nd best team in the Western Conference this season. In the 1st Round, they should’ve played the 7th best team in the West… the 92-point Ducks. Instead, they played the 3rd best team in the West… the 104-point Wild. And the Stars are now eliminated.

Kind of hard to believe that the Oilers are going to burn the prime years of McDavid and Draisaitl because management couldn't find a #1 goalie with a 100-game shelf life for 12 consecutive seasons or more
