@johncutlefish I believe the key (buzz)word which is still missing from the thread could be: empowerment. Enabling individual contributors to safely operate within a psychological safe and experiment-based culture.

@kimgoodwin @johncutlefish I think we can make a better job about tracking decisions so newly onboarded people (and other org members alike) can review records and figure out how they got where they are. Thinking about adr.github.io but for orgs.

When people switch teams or orgs, they are sometimes frustrated that the new place isn’t following “the right” design process. Good processes have commonalities—like focusing on a clear user need—but the “right” process depends on the design problem, org culture, & business goal

@johncutlefish Is there a general rule for this? I myself struggled in a poorly-lead micro-managed remote team and since then worked towards better remote orgs culture and spirit. Do we need to taste the bad to appreciate and seek the good? Lastly, +1 for nurturing a beginner's mind!

@designinginward I'm spotting a trend: value-focused people helping other people transform and succeed struggle defining themselves under a simple title. You are in good company!

@johncutlefish Spotting a trend: people deliberately working to bring value into other people effectiveness are not able to define themselves w/ a simple title. Coach, facilitator, change manager, etc don't seem to convey enough although they partially define the role. I'm in the same boat.
