The goal: turn Swedish defence exports into a strategic tool for security and industry. In other words: more Gripen, more CV90, more GlobalEye — abroad. Small countries don't sustain advanced defence industries without exports.

@gebauerspon This is not true. These bases are extremely expensive for the American tax-payer. The US is also mandated to purchase local goods and hire local labor.

Fact check: At least in Germany the US is not paying billions of dollars to have US troops stationed here under NATO framework. The opposite is true. DEU is paying for most of the facilities in Ramstein/Grafenwöhr/Landstuhl and other bases. NATO calls it »host nation support«.

Wer ein bisschen Ahnung von Mexico hat weiss, dass das ganze Land praktisch von Kartells geleitet wird und weiss auch, dass die Arme des Kartells weit in die amerikanische Politik reinreichen. Jahrzehntelang hat man darauf gehofft, dass sich Mexico alleine von diesen Kriminellen befreien kann. hunderttausende Amerikaner und auch Kanadier sind gestorben. Mehr als in jedem Krieg nach WW2. Wenn Trump dieses Problem jetzt offensiv angeht, ist das vollkommen in Ordnung. Dazu gehört auch maximaler Druck auf die Politiker Mexicos und auch das Androhen und unter Umständen senden von Militär. Wer einmal in Kensington oder East Hastings Kanada unterwegs war und das Elend sieht und die vergebenen Bemühungen, kann das nachvollziehen. Alle Konzepte sind krachend gescheitert. Den Drogenverkehr zu stoppen und die Wurzel anzugreifen ist der einzige Weg. Jetzt schon ist unter Trump die Zahl der Drogentoten signifikant zurückgegangen und auch die Masse der Drogen ist rückläufig. Jetzt muss der nächste Schritt erfolgen.
