Two strangers on the other side made $849,000 without doing anything. > Fartcoin is a memecoin on Solana with no team, no product, and no utility that somehow reached a billion dollar market cap. > Which made it the perfect target. > One wallet started stacking long positions at $0.205, opening dozens of trades in the same block. Then a second wallet. Then a third. Then a fourth. > Combined across all four wallets: 145.24 million Fartcoin tokens in open long positions. > Fartcoin dropped instead. > Wallet 0x71c97d got hit first. Two liquidations in the same morning. 29.9 million tokens at $0.182. Then 7.4 million more at $0.187. Over $6.8 million closed by force. > Wallet 0x511c495 was completely wiped. Account value went from something to exactly $0.00. > Total losses across all four wallets: $3.02 million. > But on HyperLiquid, when a position this large gets liquidated and there aren't enough buyers to absorb it, the exchange forces traders on the opposite side to take the trade. Someone spent millions trying to move a meme coin called Fartcoin and ended up being the reason two strangers made $849,000 in their sleep.

The memecoin era. Arguably the best time to be in crypto since DeFi summer. The barrier to entry was a Phantom wallet and $100. That was it. BONK got airdropped to Solana holders when the chain was barely breathing. It hit a $4 billion market cap. FARTCOIN was named after a joke between two AI chatbots and hit $2.5 billion. PNUT was a pet squirrel euthanised by the government and became a top 50 crypto asset within days. People were turning small amounts into life changing money on coins that existed for reasons that would have sounded insane to explain to anyone outside the space. By early 2025 most of it was gone. The winners had already left. The losers were still holding. Trump launched a memecoin the night before his inauguration and retail got wrecked in real time on a global stage. Memecoins ran because they were pure speculation with no pretense otherwise. No utility promised. No roadmap to lie about. Just timing, narrative and luck. But now the casino is understood. The snipers are faster. The insiders are earlier. The window where a regular person could out move smart money has never been smaller. I don't think memecoins run like 2024 ever again. But something new is coming. Something most people will dismiss until it's too late. The people willing to look stupid early are always the ones with the story worth telling later.
