@Yuurei_cosplay I agree, indeed the level of toxicity is sometimes very high. but I believe it doesn't depend on the ship but on the people themselves. if not ff shipping, they'd found another way to be toxic. they are everywhere, in every fandom, because it's bigger problem than just this

@flo_ezzed Or ppl creating someonline sides like ff. wiki but it's run by certain fans who will erase any corrections on the facts, manipulating the info that is given, just to keep their lie of a certain ship being canon alive. That's just problematic, si ce ppl think it's official.(/end)

it's been almost a year that I've worked in Jp gamedev environment, and what I've realized considering ff7:
shipping (worldwide!) helps the project more than official marketing bc marketing is 100% Jp and simply can't be effective worldwide due to cultural differences.

@k3ntruong_thai I don't think that's what Nomura-san wanted when he requested to implement T into the story, so I wouldn't blame devs. but for sure marketing does know what they're doing when using shipping wars as a promotion tool...

Sephiroth messed with Cloud's head so bad that he NEVER got over Aerith's death and still had PTSD flashbacks even when healed.

I know people give Tifa a lot of shit for misunderstandings, but moments like this are exactly why so many have such a soft spot for her. It’s the way she immediately tries to ground Cloud that feels so gentle and human. Britt’s delivery here is absolutely incredible. It’s such a tender scene, but there’s an unease underneath it because neither of them fully understands what’s happening yet.

In collaboration with Dentsu, I presented at Cannes Lions using the FFVII Remake series as a case study, offering a new perspective on viewing game communities as media.
It was a truly stimulating experience to see this theme discussed not in a gaming context, but at an advertising industry event.

people shouldn't get angry if they didn't understand the games they supposedly love, especially angry at developers. maybe blame the marketing that confused you, maybe blame the community who lied to you. but not the game director who made the games happen in the first place.

@LandiLodge time and space aren't chronological in Lifestream. even if Re came out of AC (which are plenty indications for) it:
a) is still another timeline;
b) rewrote the AC future from happening at the end of 1st game - basically making it non-canon for Re.

How does Sequel theory work now?
Isnt the crux of the theory that this Trilogy is a sequel to AC? And that Sephiroth time traveled?

Here is our answer. No endgame for any ship, but it will be ambigious and up to player interpretation. This fandom will be plagued by shipwars for many years to come😆 But it also means we will get out fair share of CA content in this game too yaay!!

Where did you look though, cuz I can't find what you mean? Here's the direct quote:

Respectfully, if Nojima and Hamaguchi both say they're not equal, verbatim, then why do fans keep pushing that they are?
What is the impetus behind elevating Tifa's importance to that of Aerith? Hamaguchi answered she's a part of the supporting cast; so why isn't that enough?

@PascalFern26527 @Nanayuna__ Nomura-san stepped back from the director's position and Hamaguchi-san took it instead, so he does make decisions story included. while Nojima-san is an invited writer, he decides "how" but not "what"🙇🏻♀️
