this is true. at least for me
When I lost my mom
I blanked out for a whole year.
I was depressed with daily cold palms, heavy head, no appetite and endless cries
I prayed to die many times.
One day, one of my friend, Justin, forcefully came to our house and said we should step out with no aim or goal
That day we walked for close to 3 hours from spots to spots, and back home. For the first time my head was clear and I looked forward to the next day
The next day,
I woke up, had my bath, went to see him and other friends and we went to play football, did some casual fighting and I was pumped.
Motion took me out of that level of depression

Had a roommate named Ayo Ali, who studied Nuclear Physics. We stayed at Mellamby Hall in the same room, B 13. All he did was sleep, play football, and listen to Music (Usher, Carlo Santana, Mixed tape).
His first class was so great that NASA recruited him out of UI, and also took his entire family with him to the USA in 2003. (They were sending scouts to watch his progress every year since he was in the 200 level, when he did some programming thing on the faculty computers that caught their attention.

My disposition to Pastor Chris Onayinka is textbook teaching on the evil of hearsay and false witnessing. I heard all sorts of accusations against him on campus and I believed them because they came from those I respected- they accused him of the most damnable heresies and licentiousness. Someone in the youth church I served in back in 2017 left to join Saints Comm, I checked up on her years after and her growth was all the testimony I needed - she was winning souls, leading a cell of quite a number of people, and working in the supernatural. I repented of my disposition towards him. On closer observation I found his ministry to be very conservative, ethical, narrowly focused on things that matter - evangelism and discipleship, much more than those who spoke ill of him. @ThePChris At UI, they grew so fast that the 3 halls of UI hotel where they meet to further their doctrine of eternal security could no longer contain them. All over the campus, they were always there to 'molest' everyone on how you can (& probably should) continue in sin and remain "saved"

I hired a BD who relocated from Lagos to our then Akure office. Two weeks into the job she requested to attend a training she had registered for in Lagos. She got back to work on Monday. I remember we had a strategy session that day..reviewed our playbook etc.. an agency even came to pitch us ... you need to see the way she grilled them, speaking in "us, we, 6 months plan, 1 year plan" . LOL That same day, by 5PM on the dot, she dropped a resignation on Slack...and before I could say jack she's gone offline.... she left for a big commercial bank (fair enough)..... the 'training' was actually her 'onboarding'. Employees also have dreams and aspirations. They have a dream job in mind, and 9/10 times it's not your shaky, not-funded, about-to-die, barely-meeting-payroll startup. The onus is on you to build that company into the "dream job" that people would fast and pray to land... Until then, support and appreciate their contributions.... and when it's time to move on let them leave with the 'loudest possible' applauds. Game on !

Call it a millennial crisis if you want.
But in my 30's, I realized l don't actually want the life I worked so hard for. I don't care about titles. I don't care about climbing anyone else's ladder. I care about time. I care about slow mornings. I care about peace. I care about bare feet at the beach with nowhere to be. I still want to make money.. just not at the cost of my life.
