@Kristina4BC How is GPS monitoring an effective safety plan for each individual woman? It's not evidence based & definitely not better than yesterday. Amplifying victims voices. @NinaKriegerBC is also responsible for the CSVA program in BC that's failing to keep women safe & alive. Bcpoli

Mission Accomplished! Today I amplified the voices of the families of Bailey McCourt and the friends of Laura Gover. And we achieved a meeting with a minister and an openness to GPS monitoring!! My heart is with the victims, families and Muslim communities grieving after the horrific attack at a mosque in San Diego. A place of worship should be a place of peace, safety and community — never fear. As Muslim families here in B.C. prepare to gather for Eid al-Adha, I want them to know: hate and violence targeting your community are not acceptable here. Not now. Not ever. My ministry is actively monitoring the situation and remains in contact with officials as police agencies across B.C. continue outreach and increased patrols around mosques and Islamic centres. Thank you to @VancouverPD, @surreyps and police agencies across B.C. for helping keep communities safe.

When people are impacted by crime, they deserve access to the supports and services they need to recover and rebuild their lives. This federal funding will help strengthen supports for victims and survivors of crime in B.C. and build on work already underway across the province. By working together, we’re helping people in British Columbia access services, strengthen recovery, and receive the support and justice they deserve. Read more: canada.ca/en/department-…

Extortion threats have caused real fear for families, businesses and communities across B.C. — and we are treating this crisis with the urgency it demands. This week, police leaders, CBSA and community partners came together to provide a public update on the coordinated work underway to disrupt extortion networks, support victims and hold offenders accountable. We heard important updates: extortion-related activity has declined in B.C. since January, arrests and charges are being advanced, CBSA has opened hundreds of immigration investigations linked to extortion, and police are continuing proactive safety planning with families and businesses at risk. There is still more work ahead, but progress is being made because agencies are working together — across jurisdictions, across borders and alongside the community. To anyone facing threats: please report it. You are not alone, and help is available. Learn more or report extortion-related information at StopExtortion.ca @surreyps @deltapolice @AbbyPoliceDept @BCRCMP @CanBorder @BaltejSDhillon

National Police Week is an opportunity to recognize and thank police officers across British Columbia and Canada for their service, sacrifice and commitment to public safety. Every day, officers respond to challenging and often dangerous situations — putting themselves in harm’s way to protect others and keep our communities safe. Our government will continue supporting police with the tools, training and resources they need to respond to today’s public safety challenges and strengthen trust with the communities they serve. To every officer working to keep people safe across B.C. and Canada: thank you for your service, your commitment and your sacrifice.

We are taking a new, innovative approach to disrupting the illicit drug trade to save lives at risk because of the toxic drug crisis. Today, B.C. launched Track and Trace, a first-in-Canada project bringing together scientists, police, and physicians to map the illicit drug supply in near real time. Using advanced technology, Track and Trace can detect distinct chemical patterns across samples, helping link drugs across communities and uncover connections that were previously invisible or slow to detect. Police agencies across British Columbia are engaged in this work, strengthening coordination and intelligence sharing province-wide. This technology and interdisciplinary approach opens up entirely new ways to understand how toxic drugs are produced, moved, and distributed, helping identify emerging threats earlier and track the most harmful supply chains. This is about staying ahead of a supply that is constantly evolving, and giving frontline teams better tools to respond, target organized crime, and protect people. @ubc @vicpdcanada @BCRCMP @surreyps

Today we recognized Emergency Service Dispatchers and 9-1-1 Awareness Week in British Columbia. Every day, emergency dispatchers serve as the vital first point of contact for people in crisis. Their work requires exceptional professionalism, resilience, and compassion. I extend our deepest gratitude to emergency service dispatchers across the province. Your dedication saves lives, strengthens our communities, and exemplifies public service at its very best.

David Eby’s priorities are completely backwards. Instead of spending $165,000 of British Columbia taxpayers’ money on expensive free coffee for Americans in Seattle, his government should fix the health care staffing crisis that its own policies created. As Premier, I will repeal Bill 36, bring our health care workers back, and stop these wasteful gimmicks while patients wait in hallways. British Columbians deserve better. Join me Findlay4BC.ca

Great meeting with @BCLions George Chayka and Jamie Taras today about two programs making a real difference for British Columbians. Be More Than a Bystander is equipping men and boys across BC to speak up and end gender-based violence. Lions Pride is putting that same energy to work for youth in grades 5–10, building positive choices through school presentations and flag football. When our sports teams show up for communities like this, it matters. Proud to support the work.

Another charge has been laid in connection with extortion-related violence, following an investigation into a 2025 shooting at a Surrey business. The suspect was located and arrested in Alberta – a reminder that crossing provincial borders won’t protect you from justice. The BC Extortion Task Force will continue to track, arrest, and hold offenders accountable wherever they may be. Read more: rcmp.ca/en/bc/news/202…

Today I visited the RCMP Training Academy in Regina to see the essential work happening to train the next generation of officers that will keep our communities safe. The training simulations, facility tour & conversations with recruits coming to B.C. and frontline officers highlighted the incredible skill and dedication behind preparing recruits for the complex challenges of today and tomorrow. Thank you for having me @RCMPDepot. @BCRCMP
