Two questions I get all the time: "What educational AI tools would you recommend for my kid?" "What adaptive apps does Alpha use?" Many of the apps we've built ourselves aren't publicly accessible yet. Here are ten third-party ones I do recommend.

@tailbouncer @ragefighthouse In a class of 30 students, 20 families could be great and supportive, but 10 families sending kids to school tired, unfed and unregulated causes constant disruption to what most teachers are trying to do, teach. 50% of local 6th graders reported sleeping less than 5 hours.

Actually, what we want is our kids to be educated and we expect it to be done by you. These “people” are there to educate. They are responsible for classroom management and our kids are there by law for a purpose. To be educated. In charge of them for 40 hours….break that down 7 hours a day with 1 hour of lunch/recess, over 190 days per year is 1140. Over 52 weeks it is approximately 22 hours a week. You should shut up because your job and ability to manage it should not be used to create empathy from the parents whom you blame everything on. You can’t call someone names and blame things WE also do control on our votes and parenting and then whine that we don’t back you blindly when you can’t do your job and educate.

Parents who say teachers should shut up about their job conditions are wild. These people are in charge of your children 40 hours a week and you don’t want them rested, regulated, happy and healthy?

Of course I believe the student who told me that they guessed 25 for 25 correctly on the multiple-choice portion of your final exam over your claim that they cheated. I mean, the odds of that are like 50-50. They either got them all right or they didn't.

I was a bit hesitant about showing stuff like this just a month ago 😅 When we started showcasing real-time AI + SDF sculpting, I was afraid professionals would laugh if I showed no effort on the input models. The shape strength slider was also hidden in our first iteration, so I had no choice but to at least try and knock some more interesting shapes together. Now that we're starting to focus on more powerful features and shape strength is finally unlocked, I'm starting to appreciate just playing with simple shapes. Different stages of production have different needs. Sometimes you want full authoring over your creations, while other times you just want to quickly explore new ideas.

I'm excited to share the Geo Register Plugin for LichtFeld Studio from the LichtFeld community! This plugin helps bring Gaussian splat scenes into real-world geographic space. It registers a scene to WGS-84 and ECEF coordinates, so you can click any point on the model and get its latitude, longitude and altitude. It supports multiple georeferencing sources, including EXIF GPS data, image position CSVs, RealityScan camera parameters and saved similarity transforms. Once the scene is registered, you can export geo-referenced splat models as LAS, LAZ or 3D Tiles datasets for use in GIS and 3D mapping workflows. Half of the class did not eat breakfast. Teachers can't fix those things.

It’s not the teacher’s fault if students misbehave or are apathetic. There are so many factors out of the teacher’s control. What teachers can control is having a limited number of well-practiced routines, consequences and praise, and instruction that gives students early success so that the path is shaped for them to more likely behave well and learn. Even in those ideal circumstances, things can go poorly and that’s really hard.

Many "great" teaching ideas die the moment they meet a classroom of students who do not care. You have to be in a classroom to truly understand that.

Discovered a couple bugs and minor areas or improvement in the wave simulation. Wave patterns are now more realistic and organic. 🌊 There was an issue before where cranking up the wave amplitudes would result in grid-like artifacts. Happy to say that is now completely gone!

@griswold Are you accounting for the large number of students who didn't even bother to read the question and instead just clicked a button?

56% of 8th graders got this question wrong. If your student can't answer this after 8 years of school, I feel like you should be entitled to a refund (private) or tax credit (public).
