I know that Pete’s comment about JCVD sounds like a “hot take” but he is *not wrong* in the fact that although JCVD’s moveset was limited, he was literally the living embodiment of “guy who practiced 1 kick 1,000 times” and we don’t even have that anymore.

We live in an era with more Hollywood martial arts movie made than ever but with fewer stars who actually knows martial arts. Like JCVD was probably one of the least skilled martial arts stars of his era but we have no one right now who’s even remotely close to him.

What's interesting about TNA's continued growth on AMC is that they haven't made any big new signing (a few mid/lower carders) and there's very little NXT involvement. People are simply watching and liking TNA.

There's a sort of theoretical laziness in having a Battle Royal which primarily consists of guys coming and and out from brawling on the floor to hit spots. Part of the charm of Battle Royals is the claustrophobic feel of everyone on top of one another. This feels like a cheat.
