I hate Zillow sometimes. Today I spy a solid multiproperty, a barndominium, and a house on acreage with full tesla power and roof ready for the Cybertruck. All in the same range I am ready to move on. I don't know how I will ever decide on the next one.

@TheKanehB @beinlibertarian Statistics are very easily fixed. China has less people, more like 300m people, if not less. The numbers are simply not there, you need 3 kids to have growth past 2 parents, they had 1 child policy forever.

I don’t think people have nearly the problem with building data centers as they do with WHERE they are trying to build data centers. What’s the solution?

@digitalspaz Important to always remember that medications are in the wild. Millions are out there every day mixing untold drugs (legal and not) with mystery outcomes. Impulse control is one of the first things to go, regardless of IQ.

@beauhightowerdn At just over 51, I fell better than ever in many regards, just with more ongoing pain. Pain is easy to get used to and work around, even look forward to in a weird way. At 30, I wasn't even functional, and had wheels. Human adaptation can be a wild thing at any age.

Man. I'm about to be 43 and I can actually feel myself falling out of my physical prime. No HRT and I've been able to fight it off through my late 30s and Early 40s by staying active, but not mid 40s ... I am starting to get weaker in the gym, the salt and pepper is becoming mostly gray and I don't think I could even touch the rim anymore. You somehow in your mind know it will come one day but for it to actually get here is a crazy experience. I see why people have midlife crisis now, because you start to lose the version of yourself that you have been for your whole adult life.

Today I was laid off from the IT field after 30 years at the same job. I started part time in 96' when I was a junior in high school, just doing basic troubleshooting and fixing computers. I worked through college and then full time after. What did I get for my 30 years of service? Almost nothing. I got 3 weeks vacation, which was supposed to be accrued only (which would have been 1.5 weeks) but after I complained it was changed to the full 3 weeks and paid medical for a few months. No severance. No cushion. Nothing. 😒 Why was I laid off? - Dwindling client base - The number was cut in half in recent years; several closed and some found other IT vendors. Splitting time between a smaller number of clients obviously is not sustainable. - AI automation - gone are the days of needing to run around to every computer to apply updates, basic things can be fixed remotely, and AI makes reporting that took days take hours. Instead of asking IT for help, clients just ask AI which walks them through fixing many things - Instead of needing an expert, AI can do it all for you. - Less need for IT support - back in the day, late 90's - 2010's, people had no idea how to do basic computing, hooking up computer, printers, ect. The modern workforce is able to do most of this stuff themselves and are much more computer savvy. What will I do now? Not sure. Since I have done this for 30 years, I'm unsure of the direction I want to go. I could get into another IT job probably, but we will see where the wind takes me. Without X, I would be sunk - the cost of living is so high in MA, all of my regular income went to cover the essentials. Most of the money that I have earned on X has been saved so I have that to fall back on but I never intended for it to be my full time thing. The direction X is going I sadly dont know if its viable to do full time and that's pretty sad for an account this size. At one point it seemed like a possibility, but the way things are looking now, it seems like they dont want to pay anyone for anything any more. In the meantime, I will be trying to improve my X game and possibly doing more spaces, articles, research, ect - but at the end of the day, even if I do those things, I have no idea if it will be worth it or viable the way things are looking. 'Make your living on X' Elon once said - it seems like a pipe dream at this point but here's to hoping for the future. 🥂

@Hitchslap1 I find higher IQ to be the most socially defunct, as it should be. Mimicry and manipulation are skills very often misunderstood as high IQ. Sociopaths seek groups to play the part. But true high IQ has defined deficits that can be seen.

@dig_deeper1 That's a solid 4 plex. Hard truth in all real estate right now, skill has been fading, prices are up due to insurance and added costs. If you aren't putting in some kind of sweat nowadays, the deal is not likely to turn out well.

Some builders make less than $50,000 per build add that the taxes they gotta pay maybe they walk away with $35K per property built. One of my Fourplexes make $2500+1680+$1650+$1200=$7,030.00 $7,030-$2,500=$4,530.00 $4,530*12=$54,360.00 $54,360 annually and the IRS gives me $8,000 on top of that. Sometimes is better to buy a duplex or a Fourplex make it cashflow than building a property and hardly make anything. A lot of builders are barely breaking even

Do not ask Grok about tools! (warning) I want an xtool, but the CNC machine I built is capable of running a plasma cutter in a 5'x10' footprint. Another $4k for a cutter that can do over 1" steel plate and $2500 for the water table. Grok makes both sound necessary. ⚠️😀

@contractorkeith So glad I built my infrastructure before these companies pumped up the prices. It is the way to go forward though, it just doesn't actually need any of the models hoping you spend compute on their tokens.

Have you seen how much golfing costs? This is 100% a correlation doesn’t mean causation type of thing. If you take your kid golfing, as a parent are probably already likely more well off. Why? Because golf is a ridiculous expensive sport. You pretty much have to already be well off to play golf. People with that money usually have their kids go to better schools, get them extra help in school when needed and other support needs. This is coming from me a kid that played golf with my parents and grandparents who were only able to bring me golfing because they had more than enough discretionary income to afford these things. All of my friends played golf their parents were in the same situation. Upper middle class or higher. Again, correlation doesn’t mean causation.
DividendBoomer@BoomerDivvies

Apparently taking your kids golfing will make them rich.

@TelepathicPug I am working on a whole tradesman software. Complete with everything you could possibly need. It’s been in the works for a while now, but still too nervous to have anyone else use it. When a bug pops up I’m glad it’s just for me. Hopefully one day will release it to the public
