Why I declined Megyn Kelly’s invitation Megyn Kelly recently invited me to appear on her true crime podcast, MK True Crime. For most media figures, that invitation would be an automatic yes. In recent years, influential voices in the media have increasingly trafficked in rhetoric that portrays Jews as sinister or Israel as uniquely illegitimate. These ideas are no longer fringe. They are mainstream. Kelly is one of the platforms where this shift is happening. She may deny it, but who she elevates – and what she ignores – tells the full story. She built her reputation as a supposed journalist, which makes this moment even more disappointing and distressing. Her show increasingly amplifies voices whose commentary normalizes hostility toward Jews and Israel. Among them is Tucker Carlson. I host a fast-growing true crime show, Surviving the Survivor. Appearing on her program would introduce my work to tens of thousands of new viewers and listeners. In other words, it would bring clicks. Clicks are the central currency of modern media. Attention determines who rises, who fades, and who remains relevant. It fuels algorithms, revenue, influence, and reputation. The sad reality is that the fastest way to capture attention is outrage. The louder the claim, the faster it spreads. The more provocative the accusation, the greater the engagement. Algorithms reward intensity, not restraint. Clarity is no longer the goal. The goal is visibility. Clicks. As someone who hosts a live, daily true crime show on YouTube, I understand this dynamic well. Audience engagement matters. Remarkable exchange between @SenRogerNiello and @Scott_Wiener on SB 934, a bill which would expose therapists to lawsuits after treating any patients with a trans-identity. Niello comes with facts. Wiener responds with obfuscation and deflection. What Wiener doesn't want his colleagues on the committee to know: the Cass Review dedicates entire chapters to psychological therapy. It explicitly warns that labeling normal exploratory therapy as conversion therapy harms children. It documents that clinicians are already afraid to treat gender-distressed youth because of laws exactly like SB 934. Wiener is running for national office. Don’t let him bring his terrible ideas to our entire country. Support @MHurabiell, a true moderate running against him.

Detransitioner Jonni Skinner on his experience at the Californian bill debate yesterday. "I wouldn't have been able to stand up and share my lived experience like that if I didn't have such kind people supporting me that day. Wiener had tried to call all of us opposing his bill hateful, tried to claim we hate trans people to dismiss our testimonies. It was interesting, as a member of the committee did stick up for us, though I still felt as if my testimony fell on deaf ears. Many people seem to be under the impression that gender identity and sexual orientation are two sides of the same coin, instead of one being a pattern of behavior/experience that carries no harm and the other (gender identity that is) is a start towards a path of medicalization that will carry long lasting effects and far reaching consequences. I'm very grateful to have the support to cultivate the resilience to take an experience that ruined my life and try to do something good with it by educating the public, stopping the same harm from befalling another, and hopefully to help foster a conversation around how we might address these sorts of issues in a more holistic way, with non-medicalized approaches that foster confidence and self-acceptance rather than suggesting body modification as a solution to emotional distress." ____________ Across X we are witnessing powerful testimonies from Detransitioners giving evidence to California lawmakers. So many Democrats oppose California's ban on telling kids they are not the opposite sex.
