Anything below $500k a year is poverty in New York City. Rent is $10k a month minimum for a 250sqft studio (bathroom down the hall). Dinner for two is $1000. Bagels alone are $50 a day. But we have great museums!

What planet do these people live on? You don’t need 150k in NYC! I’m a single dude and I make appreciably less than 150k and I live pretty comfortably. I go out to eat. I take trips abroad. And I save money for my retirement. What fricking studies are you looking at???

@richmintz Uber nearly broke the taxi and FVH industry because they had such a big regulatory moat that they failed to deliver for riders. I had been denied a ride to Brooklyn multiple times and getting Jersey was a negotiation at best, extortion at worst.

I say again: I am no fan of Uber, which took advantage of a short-term regulatory gap to nearly break the existing taxi and FHV industry, and provides a vile customer experience besides. But at least they pay their taxes and found a way to operate within the rules! 7/
