@PlatinumHoarder @Genki_JPN I still hate the fact they only kept the user content servers for gravity rush 2 active for like a year. By the time I finally got the game and played it, I was greeted by messages saying that a whole segment of the game was now shut down and inaccessible. COOL

@Genki_JPN This is why I give props to Nintendo man. Like yeah, you make that funky rhythm game. You make that Tomodachi game. You make that 100 hour RPG. Everything is on the table and Sony lost sight of the passion these devs have. Siren, Gravity Rush all lost to bland AAA nonsense.

Shuhei Yoshida says Japan Studio was closed down because PlayStation wanted AAA games, not AA games, and Japan Studio was unable to scale up “Players from around the world have said that it's unbelievable that Sony would shut down Japan Studio. Japan Studio released loads of games, creative games, didn't it? At that time I was saying something similar.” "At that time, as the head of development, I was worried about [Keiichiro] Toyama [creator of Silent Hill] and the other Japanese developers at Japan Studio. But while they came up with a lot of creative ideas, the games they made weren't big in scale. What we call AA games are a perfect fit for the PlayStation Vita, but we were slowly shifting to AAA on the PS4 and PS5, and sometimes it's difficult to scale up like that." "As a company, PlayStation wanted to drive hardware sales with games like God of War and Uncharted, because that's the kind of game that's in demand. It's hard for Japan Studio to launch a new series on console." He urges players who loved Japan Studio to support the creators that worked there’s new games like Slitterhead and Ratatan. gamesradar.com/games/action/f…

Beyond sad I won’t any more work from @kezka108 — he was one of my favorite artists online. Do yourself a favor and browse his media tab to see an artist sharing his love for music, vinyl records, and record store culture. Wonderful body of work to take in.
Joan@_Meloku

We've learned of the passing of Ryoichiro Kezuka at just 36 years old. He was the author of the manga Onban Kiko (Record Journey), in which he shared his love of music and vinyl records. He was one of the most promising and talented young artists. I'm completely shocked...

Watching the haters take a rigid, moral stance against AI is hilarious. These people are getting on a massive high horse to protest a version of technology that will be obsolete in a week. They are fighting ghosts while the rest of us are pouring concrete.

@TylerLizard2 We had a multi-floor Best Buy in Boston, and I remember an ENTIRE FLOOR was for physical media and playback devices. I remember going there often just to browse. I'm not going to Best Buy to casually browse laundry machines and the latest black rectangles.

The fact that some people think the Switch 2 can’t run PS4 games is insane to me
Genki✨@Genki_JPN

Square Enix say a Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy XV is not impossible and they will consider it! #FF15 "First, while there are certain hardware constraints when it comes to faithfully replicating the exact experience of 'Final Fantasy XV,' we can say that it is not entirely impossible. As to whether we will actually deploy it on the Nintendo Switch 2, we will pass along your input to the development team as a valuable perspective on marketing and future platform options."

@Rik_GC @KWilhelm85 @getonthestiix nevermind those NES / SNES Mini consoles from years back that Sony copied with the PS1 Mini, but bombed so hard with the execution that Best Buy had tower sized stacks for half price they STILL couldn't sell. Last time I saw that happen with hardware was the Virtual Boy.

Different architectures. You don’t know what you get. All companies can only hope their device won’t get jailbroken. But the PSP barely had any security. I was there for the first waves of jailbreaks. All that was needed was a custom made battery instead of the original one. It got so easy in the end you only needed to go on a website on the device itself.

Shawn Layden reflects on the PS Vita: "Instead of the Vita we should've made PSP2. For PSP2 we just wanted one more stick." "The biggest strategic mistake was propriety memory sticks" He also mentions how OLED and Back Touch were features that weren't worth the added cost Source - @PSInsideFr

@MelaninMugen @TheHeroicBell @Spider_Kaiju “Iamrich” app. funny piece of early smartphone culture that was part satire / part serious — it explicitly stated the app had no function, and IIRC at least a few people actually bought it. Like NFT’s it was also memed by just sharing a screenshot of the app to share around lol

@ChronoKatie Solar was also one of my least favorite from 64 that I found way more engaging this time, from the more accurate look of the plasma flares to the more intense underlit lighting, was a real treat on an HDR oled TV.

Zoness is a standout in Star Fox in my opinion. The visuals, music and atmosphere are spectacular. Arguably one of the original’s weakest missions turned into one of the best.

@MR3Dev Look at it this way -- the existence of these things further develops SteamOS which anyone will be able to install on their own system within a certain hardware spec. This is the real goal worth looking forward to.

@bittner_jameson @JonnyEthco thats exactly what I was thinking -- the details look like the same scale you would see in a hallway structure, too much discernable depth despite being VERY far away. The land terrain scale on the inside of the ring doesn't match the detail scale on the outside.

I actually think its how large they made the details. None of the details there make the structure itself feel big, because all of them are big. compare that to the original where it felt huge because the details you could see were so small. It sounds odd, but just look at the two side by side, and I think you will understand what I am saying.

@NickyZalez @meteotek man I miss the black and white buttons particularly on the duke controller -- I preferred those positions as they were naturally really useful for selection / equipment switching, like how the white button was for the flashlight in halo (it just made sense)

@Pewpewkachuu @_varyazh @swagamicchi at least wacom pro tablets for a few generations now have been using a good quality etched glass that doesn't wear out like this. No protectors needed, been working every day on one for years and not even the hint of a worn spot at all.

@_varyazh @swagamicchi Considering graphics tablets are made to be drawn on, one would think they'd be designed in such a way that the actual screen can handle said drawing without a screen protector. Especially if you're paying upwards of $2000 for one.
