I’m a humor relativist. You can’t judge earlier comedy by current standards, it’s completely relative. This was probably still slop back in the 2010s but it was less sloppy than it looks in contemporary eyes.

Why is it the case that most academic philosophers are moral realists? (I think there are surveys showing this.) I admittedly haven’t read much on the subject but haven’t yet heard a compelling reason to not be anti-realist by default. How can any normative claims be “objective”?

@robinhanson The calculation debate is over a century old. The problem is that concentrations of wealth inevitably lead to increasingly widespread corruption, ie oligarchy and political fascism (by which I mean lawlessness and amorality). The evidence is all around us today.
