I’ll be hosting a Space to discuss potential actions for the country cap removal bill. If you're impacted by the green card backlog, caused by outdated, discriminatory country caps, that distorts the American labor market and harms both immigrant and American workers, join me. If you're ready to take action and make a difference instead of waiting for change, this is for you!

Deeply saddened by the passing of @drsampat Dr. Sampatkumar Shivangi, a distinguished Indian-American physician and dedicated leader in AAPI. His contributions to the medical community and his advocacy for Indian-American physicians will always be remembered. Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. #RIP #DrSampatShivangi

The dark secret of U.S.-India immigration policy? Both sides benefit from keeping skilled immigrants in limbo. The U.S. exploits them as indentured tech workers. India welcomes them back as innovators. Trump and Modi won’t discuss this—but I did economictimes.indiatimes.com/opinion/et-com…

It is absolutely necessary to create a system that treats people equally under the law instead of discriminating and giving preferential treatment based on immutable characteristics like country of birth.
Daniel Di Martino@DanielDiMartino

In my new op-ed for @CityJournal I argue that we must end DEI in immigration. In the war for merit and against "diversity, equity, and inclusion" the immigration system is the ultimate battle. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Agree! Not sure why the 60 to 120 days transition period is seen as "Oh Bernie cares about skilled immigrants". Durbin is there with him and he knows our plight and then they throw this tiny bone at us and we are all gungho about it. At the least, one thing they should be doing is providing EAD and AP for people who have approved I-140.

Guys, Not sure if you know this but the Edakunni v. Mayorkas settlement that mandated the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to bundle together the processing of specific forms for H-1B, H4 & H4-EAD will expire on January 18th, 2025. This means only H-1B will be approved and H4/H4-EAD will die in the long wait leading to job loss for your respective spouse. Very soon even H4-EAD will be on the chopping block. The folks on the sidelines hoping that everything will be just fine are living is the state of denial. @immivoice was on the fore front of the battle to save H4-EAD program but they cannot do it alone without your support. So please join them in this fight and please please contribute. immigrationvoice.org/contribute/

Guys, Everyone who is currently engaged as a keyboard warrior on X advocating for the equality for high skilled legal immigrants and standing against the most recent backlash coming from anti-immigrant and racist groups, please note that along with social media advocacy, its important to get engaged in grassroots advocacy. The only organization that has the history of successful grassroots advocacy is Immigration Voice. All the new keyboard warriors please visit the IV website to get more information on how you can get involved. immigrationvoice.org And also become the active member by joining at advocacy.immigrationvoice.org/join Social media advocacy does help but its effect can be short lived. We all need to join hands together to make sure that our voices are heard and bring in much needed reforms that not only help provide the much needed relief for high skilled legal immigrants but also protect the rights of American Workers from the abuse of current immigration system.

Resentful bitter folks in echo chambers repeat 25-yr old tropes "Indians are low IQ, inferior, we are better. Why is India 3rd world" etc. Meanwhile firms hire senior levels Dir/VP/EVP in India. But sure, post memes of squalor/slums while India launches Mars/Moon missions.

98% of tech firms in the US simply do NOT sponsor or employ H1B workers at all. 582K Tech Employers in US. Only 10K are "H1B dependent" per DoL. Hanging blame on the "other" because they are brown/foreign is SO easy.
Diane Yap@RealDianeYap

If you have a degree in CS and you can’t get a tech job, you’re mediocre at best. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the sooner you admit it and move on, the better. I know it feels better to blame the H1B who “took your job” but be honest about what that gets you: absolutely nothing. Bitterness, resentment, a waste of time.

@daniel_s_larson You had too much expectation from Biden wrt backlogged community. Now only if it was related to undocumented or TPS etc. Oh wait...he actually did extend TPS 😊

Turns out you are doubling down on your public display of stupidity. It's not that your numbers are off is the issue. It's that you have zero clue about any of this. Let me help break it down for you. Admissions = entering the US at a port of entry (e.g airport) A person on H1B can enter the US multiple times in a year, because you know as humans they can travel for work and/or pleasure in & out of the US. When the same person enters the US multiple times, its recorded as multiple admissions. That's what the DHS data shows.

Everything that is happening here on X related to high skilled immigration is mostly noise. Join @immivoice discord and most importantly contribute a recurring donation! I have set up a $100 monthly recurring contribution to help me and my family. The time to contribute monetarily is now! The time to contribute advocacy wise will come soon. immigrationvoice.org/contribute/

We (the community) got HR1044 and S386 in 2019 passed the House and the Senate. Now, one can rightfully ask why I say what @immivoice is doing is the REAL advocacy. For that, the best evidence I can provide you is the press releases by lawmakers where IV has been mentioned. 1/

@ajshaju Matt, I've never understood your hatred of Indian immigrants. As I recall, you called us a "fulcrum of leverage". Like we're somehow less than human and don't deserve to be treated equally. Serious q: How did you get radicalized and why. (Not a personal attack on you, I promise)

@David_J_Bier ... in an economy with 8.098 million open jobs. And in a market where 99.8% employers will hire ONLY you. And you still are unemployed and blaming "Rajesh" for it ... maybe you are the problem?? tradingeconomics.com/united-states/…

@David_J_Bier Of 6 MILLION employers in US, only 50K sponsor H1B i.e. 0.8% of nationwide employers. Of 50K, assume 10K are "H1B dependent" per DOL Factsheet 62C. That's 0.167% of all employers. In other words, American workers access to 99.8% employers. If you still can't find a job ...

@PFIRorg Number of employers nationally that are "H1B dependent" per the DOL is 0.167% i.e. microscopic in impact. % Employers who do not hire H1B is 99.8%. Silly to pretend that unemployed folks are unemployed because of the 0.167% in a market with 8.098 million OPEN jobs.
