Starting a series on advanced icon tips. First up, we're looking at the classic smiley to see how to treat dots. Dots want to be a little bigger than the stroke weight to look balanced. Read more: minoraxis.medium.com/advanced-icon-…

@IroncladDev Something like enhanced import maps where `import { Xyz } from "foo"` could map to a dynamic module by substituting `import { $ } from "foo/bar/{$}"`

@IroncladDev It would be great if there was a way to accomplish the same ease of use without the overhead, esp. for libraries with a large, flat structure (e.g. icons).

@awesomekling I think you're being unfairly labeled because while you're not talking politics, you're talking about talking about politics. DHH has said and expressed some pretty obvious white nationalist ideas, the best thing for you to do if you mean it is to stop bringing him up altogether.

Now that LiveKit has inference, creating a voice agent is 2 commands: - brew install livekit-cli - lk agent init This connects you to cloud, gets you to name a project — and you're just ... done. It works. No API keys, and the agent code all lives on your machine.

💡 CSS feature idea! AI-powered style sheets: Tired of writing selectors? Let AI do it: @ai("every other div inside the main container") { } Tired of picking colors? AI can help: div#foo { background: ai("a cool blue shade"); } Should I build this and apply for VC?

@scalar Cool technique! Many of Departure Mono site's animations/interactives are made by embedding Solidjs components in svg -> foreignObject

this week at scalar™ we made our github readme product animations ~50x smaller (4mb -> 80kb) by embedding our entire app’s html + css inside an svg's <foreignObject> tag here's how you can do it too ↓ p.s check out this 40kb scalar animation

@allypallyxcx @BetaProfiles So you’re dragging the tab bar item just to find the perfect spot to complain that it’s not readable? You literally can’t see underneath the finger you drag, otherwise this is perfectly readable.

I had heard about @_phosphoricons before, but thought it was just another icon set. Turns out I was wrong. It’s a vast collection of well-designed icons in many weights to be used at different sizes. Will probably be my new go-to icons! Great work @friedtm and @minor_axis. 🫶

@mitchellh I use ~/Documents/Dev because I actually keep notes and other writing in Documents. But I have a shell function in my profile that enumerates and cds to directories in the Dev dir, so I just type `dev myproj<Tab><Enter>` to autocomplete and cd to a project from anywhere.

For over a decade, I've used a GOPATH filesystem layout for my code (despite not using Go), because I liked it. Well, I realized finally that I don't hop between more than a handful of projects, so I put them all in `~/Documents` now, which exists by default on all my systems. I noticed a Ghostty maintainer doing this and thought "... wait... they're right." The "Documents" home folder exists on macOS by default and on many Linux desktop environments. It sits empty for me. It's perfect. So here I am. I hated the capitalized letter in that folder at first, but got over it pretty quickly. I think people will hate this, lmao.
