The war and the deaths aren’t about Zionism. Someone can be a Zionist and disagree with Netanyahu’s decisions or how the war is being fought. Yet another example of how the term “Zionist” is being twisted and far too many have no idea what it means. That said, I agree with the war. Mistakes have been made, as is always the case, but I don’t believe Israel had a choice. If your country is repeatedly attacked, culminating in a massacre of 1200, 250 kidnapped, countless injured and raped, it starts a war. There comes a point where you have to completely disable the capabilities of the foreign entity that is constantly attacking you and killing your citizens. Israel reached that point. Tragically, despite best efforts and intentions, there are deaths in wars. They are unavoidable due a vast variety of reasons, including when the governing body, Hamas, is using people as shields, murdering them as they try to evacuate, hoarding aid from them, killing then when they try to get aid, drawing attacks to where civilians are to turn the world against their opponent. The war is awful, no question. But what options were there? In your opinion, how should Israel have responded to Oct 7?

This is where I would wholeheartedly disagree with you, @TheModerateCase. You say “There is no modern nation state that is ‘chosen’ by God.” You are wrong about that. The modern nation state of Israel is most certainly chosen by God in that it is a representation of His Word being fulfilled and His promises being kept. That’s one reason. A second reason is that it represents God’s ability to save His people even if (and eventually when) all nations of the world are gathered against them to destroy them. This little tiny nation state up against practically the entire world—and Israel is the one that becomes the superpower and wins. It’s David vs Goliath x1000! That’s God. That’s God ‘choosing’ this modern nation state for His divine purposes and to show forth His glory. In other words, the state of Israel exists as an absolute proof that JEHOVAH—He who refers to Himself a total of 203 times in the Holy Bible as “the God of Israel”—is, in fact, the One and the Only True God. The tiny nation of Israel is the physical proof that Jehovah is God and Allah of Islam (or any other deity, including the false Trinity of Catholicism) is not. That is why the nation state of Israel is, in fact, “chosen.” So, I do wholeheartedly disagree with you. You have so many amazing insights, and I do very much so appreciate the incredible content you put out in defense of Israel and the Jewish people. Thank you! The IDF found Nazi books in almost every home in Gaza.This isn't a coincidence. Palestinian society has for decades praised Hitler and attempted to follow the Nazi cause, which is to exterminate the Jewish people. How the world sees them as victims is blowing my mind.
