A lot of Indians working in the West are the first in their bloodline to have made it out of generational poverty. They grew up in remote distant villages far away from the influences of globalization.
Now that they are somewhat affluent they bring over their parents to show them around Europe. This is often a matter of immense pride for the family: a sign that they have arrived on the world stage and can afford to do things their forefathers couldn’t have imagined in their wildest dreams.
These parents often come from rural areas as poor as sub Saharan Africa. They do not at all understand Western sensibilities, have a completely different sense of what is polite and what is not and are usually extremely terrified and overwhelmed by a world that feels alien.
I understand that you find them inconvenient and perhaps even grating.
I get it. Their aesthetics stand out. They lack polish and seem out of place in glitzy European airports. Although the glitzy part is increasingly becoming contentious.
I sense the condescension in your tweet but remember at the end of the day these people are spending money in Europe, on hotels, food, and souvenirs.
They are giving more than they take
and it is important to see them as equals and not lesser beings.

I 100% believe this because the past year or so in I would see Indians arriving at the central train station in Amsterdam or around the airport train station behaving like it was their first day on earth. One example, I saw an Indian woman who was scared to use the escalator, looking at it like she saw water burn, while holding up many people behind her who were trying to exit the train platform.

@KasperStats Yeah, the only problems that might arise would pertain to the location. Is the box at the bottom of a lake? Inside a military base? High up some mountain? Inside the vault of some bank? Inside George Lucas' salt mine next to the original copy of Star Wars?

What's going unsaid here is that very lib-leaning people often don't realize when they're being preachy. They're so used to being surrounded by people who agree with them that they can only imagine disagreement as some unreasonable caricature or strawman.

Set aside the nonsensical insults from Trump and just focus on this part. He is so detached from reality he believes that Alex, Megyn, Candace and Tucker are non-entities because they aren't on cable news.
All of them have comparable audiences to the most highly rated cable news shows.

Text to my husband today: “Where do we keep the house filters?”
Why? Because the AC guy was here today and offered to change them for us, a job that my husband handles. He knows when to change them, and he knows the size and type of filters we use. I do not.
Because in a marriage you divvy up the mental load.
I handle the grocery list because I cook, because I’m better at it! He does the dishes, so when he’s low on dishwasher soap he tells me and I add it to the list.
This video implies only women have a mental load which is utter BS. Husbands and wives just handle different aspects of the household. That’s how it works. That’s how it’s always worked.

Unfortunately leaving NATO won’t be to avoid foreign entanglements, we’ll be leaving NATO so we can side with Israel when Turkey & Israel eventually clash in Syria.
This is after we helped topple the secular Syrian gov & installed a former AQ/ISIS leader as president.
Time to stop playing arsonist & fireman in the Middle East, it’s just not worth it.

@IMAO_ Keeps your shirt from being seethrough, your nips from poking out, and if you're wearing a jacket all the time and don't sweat all that much it's more comfortable with fewer layers on your upper arms. If you plan to take your jacket off a short sleeve is preferable for aesthetics

Don’t do this.
When me and my wife lived apart it wasn’t uncommon for us to go 7+ hours without texting each other sometimes.
People aren’t obligated to respond to you immediately anytime you text. Sometimes people are busy, not paying attention to their phones etc.

1. Splitting the Euro right from the American dissident right.
2. Within the American right the anti- war contingent are shit tested as being too pro brown or Muslim in the context of the war.
Both are new additions to the ecosystem.
