It’s 2:57am in Mexico City and Leo’s message about @ord_io made me thought a lot… This post probably won’t be read by anyone in my time zone. Buy I’ve been here for looong time, and I have seen the ups and downs of the market. But for some reason this time feels, different. Hopeless, perhaps. I’m not going to lie, I miss the good old times of Ordinals, of runes, I remember my first day at @xverse and when I was building @LosOrdinales and the first time I went to Hong Kong. For a moment I felt that I touched heaven! But the radio suddenly stopped. And the dream… is gone. I miss meeting people from everywhere, we only wanted to talk about our jpegs on Bitcoin and our Bitcoin... Did we believe in a different world? Did we think we could bring value to Bitcoin? Yes we did. Were we fools? Idk I don’t think no one dreaming a dream and hoping for the best is a fool. Maybe we dream too high. I don’t have an answer. I was at almost every good ordinal event. I had to fly a lot, and my heart was full. I’m not going to lie, I miss those days, but mainly I miss the people. Maybe in the morning I will delete this post, maybe a troll or two will mock about those good days but at the end who cares? Ordinals made me commit more to Bitcoin and maybe right now I don’t see the light at the end of this time. But Bitcoin will prevail. I miss working for a Bitcoin company full time. But, I know one thing is that every piece of my work was 100% committed to make this world more orange 🍊. I miss the ordinals community. I miss working for the Bitcoin community. But I have hope that as someone found me one day and hire me, will find me again 🥹. Long live Bitcoin 🧡🧡

Obviously, this isn’t how we had hoped things would play out when I embarked on this project with Leonidas a little over 3 years ago, but here we are. It’s been an incredible journey and I have been so fortunate to meet some amazing people along the way. We built a product that I’m very proud of and have learned so much through the ups and downs of running Ord .io Thanks to all who helped make this possible and enjoyed building along with us ❤️
Ord.io@ord_io

Ord io is shutting down on June 1. Three years ago, we launched our idea for "an Ordinals explorer with upvotes". We had no idea what was about to happen. Since then, Ord io has grown into a platform used by over a million people to explore inscriptions on Bitcoin. It brought us so much joy to ship features like Satributes for discovering the rare sats behind inscriptions and Block Vision for monitoring real-time Runes minting activity. Even simple filters and sorting options took on a life of their own. "Sort by largest inscription" quickly turned into a leaderboard where inscribers competed to create the biggest "four megger". And even the things that annoyed us at the time are funny to look back on now, like when the Bitcoin Puppets community would "raid" other collections so hard that we had to remove the downvote feature. To help preserve some of the Bitcoin culture that happened on Ord io, we'll be uploading the full history of upvotes, replies, and public address profiles to GitHub. That way, if someone wants to build their own Ordinals explorer with this context in the future, they can. Thank you to every single artist, collector, dev, and degen who joined us for this ride 🧡

@arben777 Great! We ran into the same problem and the same solution when we were stress testing a minting tech @bitplx. The difference is that we need to insert back the failures since it is an arbitrary supply. Reintroducing them was even more difficult than parallel minting. WIP.

Great question. In our case, “unpaid tickets” = mints that pulled a sequence number but then aborted (network drop, validation failure, etc). Postgres sequences don’t roll back, so that slot is permanently burned - we don’t reuse it. the leak is accepted because aborts are rare (a handful out of 21M), and reusing slots would re-introduce the exact lock contention we just eliminated. The cap is a soft ceiling on issued numbers, not a guarantee of exactly 21M minted tokens. Also ran the db check and only 1 has 'fallen through the cracks'

RPOW3 - fixed a lot of the issues by running parallel minting. Before: every mint had to update the same counter row to claim its slot number (mint #1, #2 … up to 21M), so they lined up one-at-a-time - only ~1 could finish at a time. Now: a Postgres sequence acts like a deli ticket dispenser - every mint pulls its own unique number instantly, in parallel, with no two ever colliding. Hundreds finish at once instead of waiting in line.

To clarify @PyrusFinancial is not doing BTC-backed loans! Ledn / Strike / Arch / Unchained / Coinbase loans: existing BTC holder → posts BTC → gets USD liquidity. Underwritten on collateral. Liquidation-based. Customer is a HODLer who needs cash without selling. Pyrus's Bitcoin Equity Loan: aspiring or accumulating BTC buyer → has USD income/credit → gets a USD installment loan to acquire BTC → BTC is supplemental collateral with no forced sale. Underwritten on borrower. Default-and-recovery based. Customer is someone who wants to own more BTC and is willing to amortize the cost over 4–7 years.

It is disappointing that you are amplifying and sharing information and conclusions that are not only false but also skip the fundamental step of contacting the target to verify the facts, thereby incurring in a reckless spread of misinformation. These claims are defamatory and factually incorrect; we will hold those who circulate these falsehoods accountable for the resulting harm to our business reputation.

Real-Time Payment (RTP) systems as recognised by the BIS differ from real-time crypto settlement in a number of ways: - The need for a central operator for any such system such as a central bank, clearinghouse or a icensed bank consortium to run the rails - RTP systems move sovereign fiat only and not tokens (think USD and not USDC or USDT) - Participants are all regulated such as banks, e-money providers, or supervised PSPs With so much happening in the stablecoin space, global RTP systems are not covered as much as they should be given their growth and scale. Brazil's Pix is perhaps the most interesting example of a successful RTP system. Pix may not be the largest RTP system in terms of overall transaction volumes (that is India's UPI). However Pix has by far the best data API. I've created an in-depth dashboard to see Pix data across its various aspects. You can see monthly as well as annual data. This is linked below this post. As well as offering transaction and volume data the Pix API provides insights like no other similar system: - You can see the split between P2P and P2B payments - Split between age brackets of senders and receivers - Split between regions of Brazil in terms of sending and receiving - The most common ways if initiating a transaction eg. QR code vs entering a phone number - And the volume of transactions of Pix Saque which allows cash withdrawal at the POS I'm building out more RTP data over time on my RTP Dashboard. Also subscribe to my Substack for long-reads on similar topics.

@huuep We know how art on Ethereum's value ended up, how do you think this can be different? Is "permanence" enough for my ordinals bags?

Art on Ethereum took years to be taken seriously. That’s easy to forget now. Collectors wish they could go back to the early days, when artists were first experimenting, new techniques were being invented, and gems were hiding in plain sight. That moment is happening now, and it’s on Bitcoin. The infrastructure is even less devoloped, and the art is harder to find, harder to understand, and easier to overlook. So artists and collectors, show us the hidden gems on Bitcoin 👇
