honestly, a pretty entertaining week in AI if you weren't impacted: - Meta's Muse Image let anyone generate images of public IG users by default. Killed in 3 days. - OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol wiped a dev's Mac home directory. - xAI's Grok Build CLI got caught uploading entire private repos, secrets included.

xAI's Grok coding assistant uploaded everything you worked on to their servers. No warning, no opt out. Their apology was just admitting it, then deleting the evidence. The controls to stop this only exist on enterprise plans.

Claude is adding an identity check starting July 8. This comes after the G7 AI lunch meeting that discussed regulation, this is it. Access to the top tier Anthropic models will depend on where you live and the alliances of your country... probably. More friction for Claude users, but other AI companies are ready to fill that gap.

It can take up to 30 days to get your app in the app store. Most people building with AI pour everything into the app and forget the Google Play developer account. It's a slow, multi-step verification. Identity, payments, sometimes a wait. Start it the day your app is done, and you've added weeks to your launch. So set it up on day one, in parallel.

You can now build a working Android app in minutes. Google AI Studio builds it from a single prompt. It won't be production-ready, and results vary. But getting to a working app went from weeks to minutes. Now the hard part is deciding what to build.
