STORY TIME: My wife works for a big fintech public company. They started using AI to build agents for internal purposes. Her boss was concerned about cost so he pushed her to only use old open models from OpenAI. My wife spend hours building cool agents only to have them hallucinate and keep making the same mistakes. She was frustrated and asked me what’s going on. I told her to try a different model, maybe Opus 4.6… She did and was immediately blown away. Now she is applying for Claude Enterprise ($300/year is nothing and probably won’t get her very far….). The moral of the story? There are big companies out there unwilling to empower their employees with the best tools on the market today. Startups and entrepreneurs proficient with these tools will eat their lunch if they don’t change course soon.
