Io posso difendermi. Molti altri no.
Perché oggi capita a me, domani può capitare a chiunque.

I left China after eight years. Here's what I experienced as a Japanese person reporting for an American outlet, at a time when a distrust of foreigners has come to permeate everyday life in China. wsj.com/world/china/im… via @WSJ

@micah_erfan It shows how far the GOP has strayed. It has become a far right caricature of a once genuinely conservative party.

During the Nuremberg Trials, Hermann Göring gave an interview to psychologist Gustave Gilbert and said:
“Of course the people don’t want war. Why would some poor farmer want to risk his life in a war when the best he can hope for is to come back to his farm in one piece?
Naturally, people don’t want war. No one wants war in Russia, England, America — not even in Germany. That’s obvious.
But in the end, it’s the leaders of a country who determine policy. And it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it’s a democracy, a communist state, a parliament, or a fascist dictatorship.”
Gilbert objected:
“But there is one difference in a democracy — the people have a voice through their elected representatives.”
To which Göring replied:
“That’s all well and good, but whether the people have a voice or not, they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
— Nuremberg Diary, April 18, 1946
Doesn’t it sound familiar?

"I'm a trailblazer. I'm the first Indian person to suck at their job. Everyone says Indian people are smart, hardworking, incredibly intelligent. I prove without a shadow of a doubt that we can be just as incapable and incompetent as the whites."

@FiringLineShow @AEI @newtgingrich The Gingrich/Hastert rule of the rule of the majority of the majority prevented legislation with wide bipartisan support from coming up if it couldn't muster a majority within the GOP. Not entirely a GOP innovation, but a stronger version than ever before imposed.
English

Yuval Levin of @AEI says by centralizing power, @newtgingrich didn’t just reshape Congress—he weakened it, turning lawmakers into loyalists and the speaker akin to a prime minister.
“The idea that the speaker should function as a kind of prime minister, that he should be able to wield Congress as a weapon against the president of the other party, ended up meaning that the rest of the members of Congress look to party leaders for direction.”
“In many ways this would be James Madison's nightmare,” said @RosenJeffrey, CEO emeritus of the @ConstitutionCtr.

@WhitakerTA_ Check it out... JD Vance is heavily invested in a company that buys farms out of receivership. Isn't that cute?!?! It's almost like this was part of the plan. Destroy the economy so the #EpsteinClass oligarchy can come around and buy it all up for pennies on the dollar!!

@gaodawei Very interesting, given how Hu has become a leading guide & executioner of Xi Jinping's genocide against the Uyghurs; now targeting Taiwan. He doubled down on the Machine and join in to lead its surveillance, oppression, and erasure of the nations conquered by China's empire.
