Exactly. Knew I wasn’t making it up. Son was born in 1981. I had to teach him his tables. Why on earth was it a policy NOT to teach them. Some fancy ideology?? Like not teaching spelling correctly. 😢😢

@AndyBTravels I was living in Graz when that was installed for European Capital for Culture and I was so shocked but impressed seeing it for the first time coming up the escalator on the way back from my Christmas holidays!

At Belfast ferry port, about to start my epic trip. I'm overnight to Birkenhead by @StenaLineUKIE, then on to London by @AvantiWestCoast, and after head to Paris by @EurostarUK. I stay a night there, travel by @SNCFConnect to Turin and then by @Trenitaliano somewhere else.

You’ve got to give it to Germany. Transforming one of Europe’s best train networks into one of the worst in only 20 years is quite the achievement. Trains too short, too infrequent, too unreliable and a nutter density to rival a London night bus. Makes you proud to be German!
