Jay’s Trading Maxim #131: The question to ask IS NOT “What will the MARKET do?” The question to ask IS “What will YOU do?” Markets will fluctuate, BUT you have 100% control of allocations, position size, stop-loss decisions. Either you have a plan and you follow it, or you don’t.

@tparsi You are definitely affiliated with the IRGC. No one knows how much oil this terrorist regime sells unless they are one of them. You should be held accountable for your role in the hostage-taking and killing of Iranians.

Energy industry insider in Iran tells me the following, and it is STUNNING: Before the war, Iran produced just shy of 1.1mn barrels of oil per day, and sold it at $65 per barrel minus $18 discount (i.e. $47) Today, it produces 1.5mn barrels a day, and sells it at $110 with only $2-4 discount. And this does not include petrochemical sales that not only have increased, but are now being sold to a larger set of customers compared to before the war. Moreover, Iran is receiving payments through new mechanisms that bypass the UAE, which were set up after the June war. In essence, and this is really important to understand, Trump and Israel's war has ended up delivering Iran de facto sanctions relief. This means that Iran is all the less incentivized to end the war, unless the agreement provides Iran with formal sanctions relief.

Does anyone have a very strong view as to why stocks will be higher 4-8 weeks from now? It’s starting to feel a bit one-sided (not that stocks can’t go down when it’s like that)
Citrini@Citrini7

I can’t really see the scenario where stocks don’t go lower in the near term. Maybe that’s s bull case? Market has been so desperate for a taco people have been making their own and forgot that in an actual war both sides have to agree to end it (or one has to surrender). They’re going to figure that out eventually. The Fed’s cutting cycle is on its way to being completely priced out. 2 weeks ago, SOFR Z7 was 75bps lower than March 2026. Now it’s down to 25bps and IOR is comfortably above 2yr (meaning reserve managers are not buying the dip on the expectation the cutting cycle continues). If NFP is strong, it’ll wreck rates (at a time when financing has become increasingly important for the largest companies in the world) while if it’s weak I don’t think equities respond positively either. And this all is coming at a time when AI is maybe not good enough to convince companies to replace workers with machines while business goes along as usual, but certainly is good enough to have companies attempt to use it for roles they had to cut because of economic pressure and potentially find out they don’t need to hire that role back. It’s one thing to see some bearish scenarios and brush them off as priced in, that’s been a good strategy (most years have drawdowns of 10-15% routinely). But SPX is ~5% off all time highs…

I watched this entirely, and I agree with him. A lot of times, a woman's racial preferences are based on racial stereotypes and social perception of a certain race of men based on her environment. Take a White woman and raise her in Vancouver, Canada, she is going to be 100% closed off to dating a Brown guy because in her upbringing, Indians = Inferior people. She will justify it and act Woke and all of that but she is indeed a racist. Take the same White woman and raise her in a part of the world where prejudice towards Indians is not as severe or even existent, and she will 100% go for a high-value Indian dude. The main thing you must do as a minority is avoid areas where local women and local culture is highly prejudiced towards you.

I don't understand why Westerners hold this Mr. Jiang in such high regard. Most of what he says is clearly based on delusional conspiracy theories. When he makes these claims, there is rarely any sound logical reasoning behind them—most of the time, he simply jumps straight to conclusions or in another word his own hallucination. And I don't think he has an accurate understanding of many simple facts, which made his fantasies are not built on the real world at all. How could someone like this gain such popularity in the West?

@MikePMoffatt I'm not so sure. Out of all the utilities, electrical is by far the easiest to build out (it's just a wire).

Availability of electricity, IMO, is by far the most underrated issue when it comes to densification. Add heat pumps, EV chargers, etc. and there's a massive last-mile problem that is mostly ignored.

@ChrisSpoke Ditto hydro planning- if a builder wants to make a cool single stair 5 story building (I mean: WHY NOT?) on a quiet side street, with this single stair code- is the builder responsible for building out the three phase power the elevator needs? 9/x
