When are tech folk going to get that people like wasting time, it's life. They don't optimize for efficiency, they try to get by, they watch dumb stuff, they enjoy shopping. Inefficiency is another work for living and life. Your m mean and median job isn't a software engineer in Menlo Park, it's Ashley in accounts in a not for profit in Columbus, it's Jesse , the office manager for a tool rental business in Tallahassee, they are more likely to use a Fax machine than Slack. They quite like meetings because they like chatting, they'll use AI to make a better invite to their baby shower, not agentify their job. These people, nor their bosses boss, aren't in a rush to build software as a side hustle, they are keen to use AI to check if their vet is overcharging them. They'd like AI to check spelling on the email to the school governor. They don't want agentic commerce, they want AI to be in the background and make living a little less stressful

One last picture, before I go.

Beyond loved the series of Stranger Things. Easily one of my favorite series of all time, if not my favorite. Season 5 wasn’t perfect, but they stuck the landing about as well as possible. One thing I’ve realized is that for shows like Stranger Things, GOT, Westworld, Lost, etc… we all love diving in to the theories, the possibilities, the deep dive podcasts after the show, and it enhances our enjoyment of the journey. But in doing so we undoubtedly grasp on to some theories or ideas that we absolutely love, and all of us may have different versions that we love, and inherently we are going to love one or two of those theories more than what actually ends up happening in the show. It’s never going to be perfect, and with long running tv series the journey is almost always greater than the inn. But for me, Stranger Things brought me back to my childhood, reminded me what growing up felt like, and that not everything is perfect. The finale was emotional, enjoyable, and satisfying. Would I have changed a couple things, sure. But what an epic journey and an unbelievable ride. Thank you @Stranger_Things.

LMFAO. For years Boomers have lectured young people to "stop buying fancy coffee and learn how to save". Now they're being accused of "hoarding" devices for not buying a new $1500 phone every 18 months and "costing the economy" by dining in and living at home. Incredible stuff.
